Basic Function The Product Marketing Specialist is a member of the Industrial BU Product Management team working with technical products and is considered the subject matter expert on design and manufacturing of Brooks Instrument Industrial Mass Flow (IMF) products.
This role’s primary function is to support sales and profit growth with an emphasis on increasing customer satisfaction. This will be achieved by providing regular support to Brooks Customers and the Product Marketing Team, working jointly with Sales, Marketing, Customer Service, Applications Engineering, Engineering, Quality and Operations.
This role requires knowledge of Brooks systems and processes, along with exceptional organizational ability, multi-tasking, having a high sense of urgency, and maintaining a positive can-do attitude. Key success factors will be utilizing organizational and program management skills and demonstrating the ability to work with members of cross-functional teams on a routine basis.
The Product Marketing Specialist reports to the Director of Marketing. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Ensure customer satisfaction. Provide tools and information to support timely and accurate responses to customer and sales inquiries.
Ensure current product line information (e.g. lead-time, product specifications, pricing) is up to date, accurate and efficiently disseminated. Manage discount requests using product cost, material margin and other relevant information. Work with quality, sourcing, engineering and operations to drive continuous improvement of product features, performance and cost reduction initiatives.
Work with sales, product marketing, engineering, planning and operations to ensure successful completion of customer special requests and related engineering change orders. Work with engineering to track and report metrics for customer special requests.
Using available tools (e.g. Brooks Data Warehouse, CRM) maintain product forecast and manage Sales, Inventory, Operations and Planning (SIOP) meetings and communications. Maintain understanding of current product lead times and work with SIOP team to align with or exceed market expectations for product lead times.
Assist product marketing with portfolio management including Explore Phase (Market Research, Voice of Customer, Product Roadmap, Project Prioritization), Customer Back Innovation (CBI), Product Line Simplification (PLS) and End of Life (EOL).
Assist product marketing with the following activities; Update and maintain marketing documentation and data sheets. Provide sales support and training materials to enhance effectiveness of all selling activities. Maintain and enhance product, market and application training presentations.
Work with marketing communications, product marketing and business development to drive and provide content for promotions in support of product and market strategies. Keep current with technological and competitive developments. Update competitive intelligence by studying and communicating information about new products, features, options and accessories.
Participate in educational opportunities to enhance job related knowledge, skills and abilities. Education and Experience Bachelor's degree in either Engineering or Physical Sciences preferred Will consider a two-year technical degree with 5+ years of related experience 0 to 3 years of relevant experience Previous experience with Sales, Marketing and Customer facing organizations desired Previous experience with manufacturing, business, ERP and documentation systems desired Previous experience in project/program management with cross functional projects desired Previous industrial or semiconductor technology business process background a plus Must have a can-do attitude, work at a fast pace, multitask, be flexible, and deal effectively with changing priorities Must be detail oriented, objective, collaborative, assertive, and have ability to influence outcomes Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and emerging Artificial Intelligence tools (e.g.
