Senior Associate – Global Billing Manual Data Operations Reporting to: Manager – Global Billing Operations Why this role is important to us Global Billing Operations (“Global Billing”) is responsible for all of State Street’s client billing processes across the globe.
The remit spans across Asset Servicing, Alpha, Global Markets, Global Advisors, and the Digital division, covering over 50+ billing processes and 40+ legacy platforms. Global Billing is undergoing a multi‑year transformation across people and operating model, processes and controls, data automation, and technology.
State Street has established a Global Billing function under Global Delivery, responsible for Billing Transformation, Client Billing Setup, and Invoicing across all business lines and geographies. This organization brings together teams across global delivery centers including India, Poland, and China.
Manual Billing Data Operations remains a critical component of this ecosystem, ensuring billing continuity, client confidence, and regulatory accuracy while the organization transitions toward a highly automated, Oracle‑based target state (ORMB).
Job Purpose The Senior Associate – Global Billing Manual Data Operations will support the Manager and broader Global Billing Data organization by owning end‑to‑end delivery of manual billing data for assigned clients. This role ensures timely data gathering, preparation, validation, escalation management, and delivery of manual billing templates to the Data Lake in line with agreed SLAs.
The role requires strong ownership of client portfolios, effective prioritization to maintain positive client sentiment, and close partnership with Data Sourcing, Data Governance, and Billing Operations teams. The individual will also actively identify opportunities to consolidate manual data templates, reduce operational complexity, and improve human and process efficiency as part of the broader billing transformation journey.
What you will be responsible for Own end‑to‑end manual billing data operations for assigned client portfolios, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of data within agreed SLAs Gather, prepare, validate, and submit manual billing data templates and ensure successful transmission to the Data Lake Ensure timely escalation of data gaps, delays, or quality issues with clear tracking to closure Prioritize workload across multiple clients and data providers to support billing timelines and positive client sentiment Develop strong understanding of billing products and services Identify opportunities to consolidate manual data templates by data provider or source Partner with Data Sourcing and Data Governance teams on sourcing, documentation, and governance requirements Support onboarding of new data sources and clients including validation and testing Identify opportunities to improve human and process efficiency Promote strong risk and control mindset and support continuous improvement initiatives What we value Ownership, accountability, and attention to detail Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment Proactive escalation and problem‑solving mindset Strong stakeholder management and collaboration skills Clear written and verbal communication skills Positive attitude and continuous improvement mindset Education & Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, IT, or related discipline Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in Financial Services / Investment Banking Strong understanding of products such as Custodial Services, Fund Administration, Fund Accounting, Transfer Agency, Tax Reporting, FATCA & CRS Prior experience in billing operations or data operations is preferred About State Street Across the globe, institutional investors rely on us to help them manage risk, respond to challenges, and drive performance and profitability.
