The Information Security Engineer supports the execution of intellectual property (IP) Protection measures within the Technology & Products Group (TPG). This role provides hands‑on exposure to operational security activities while offering opportunities to grow skills through participation in improvement and project work.

The Engineer engages with experienced team members and program leads, applying established procedures and project plans while progressively expanding technical and professional capability. The Information Security Engineer collaborates with IT, Enterprise and Infrastructure Security, and business partners to help implement, operate, and maintain technical security controls throughout their lifecycles.

Through this collaboration, the Engineer builds practical understanding of how security controls protect Micron’s intellectual property in a complex engineering environment. Operational request fulfillment is a primary responsibility of this role.

The Information Security Engineer supports the intake, processing, validation, and documentation of security‑related requests using defined processes and approved controls which can leverage AI. This work develops strong execution discipline, continuous improvement while reinforcing the importance of consistent, policy‑aligned decisions in protecting IP.

The Engineer escalates exceptions or potential policy deviations appropriately, contributing to lessening risk. In addition to operational responsibilities, the Information Security Engineer spends a meaningful portion of time contributing to project‑based work.

This includes supporting operational automation and process enhancements at times with Artificial Intelligence solutions. Project work contributes to control lifecycle like helping with assessments, control improvement or control monitoring activities.

These responsibilities enable the Engineer to develop analytical, problem‑solving, and collaboration skills beyond day‑to‑day execution. The Information Security Engineer contributes to cross‑functional efforts involving Semiconductor Engineers, Risk Engineers, Software Engineers, Security Engineers, and other stakeholders by assisting with requirements gathering, supporting control implementation activities, and helping monitor control effectiveness across both operational and project contexts.

This position supports the day‑to‑day execution of IP Protection controls, helping upstream processes operate as intended and ensuring that downstream reporting accurately reflects process adherence and control performance. Processes include preventative and detective IP protection controls for structured and unstructured data handling and data lifecycle management.

The Information Security Engineer raises issues as they are identified and participates in maturing IP protection services with support and mentorship from senior team members. As part of both operational execution and project participation, the Information Security Engineer is encouraged to identify and raise opportunities for improvement related to efficiency, control effectiveness, and IP protection outcomes.

With guidance, the Engineer participates in approved improvement initiatives, including procedure updates, control validation, monitoring enhancements, and lessons‑learned activities. In addition, the Information Security Engineer assists with analyzing and standardizing appropriate levels of authorization based on the sensitivity of data assets.

This includes helping identify access inconsistencies, segregation‑of‑duties concerns, and documenting risk mitigation actions that support the protection of Micron’s IP. Through these activities, the Engineer contributes to the continuous improvement of TPG access management and data classification practices.

Information Security Engineers develops foundational skills by combining operational execution with guided participation in project and improvement work, supporting Engineer growth into expanded responsibilities within the TPG IP Security organization.

Other Responsibilities and Tasks Support the integration of security requirements into business and engineering processes using established standards and approved approaches. Communicate security or technical concepts clearly to engineering and business stakeholders, building confidence while seeking guidance for more complex topics.

Learn, apply, and help communicate Micron security policies, standards, processes, and procedures within assigned projects and operational activities. Support secure external collaboration requirements by applying approved methods and tools.

Contribute to documented and repeatable processes that meet IP protection needs and align with Micron Information Security policies and procedures. Support operational activities such as intake, fulfillment, and validation on security‑related requests within metrics driven service level expectations.

Assist in implementing data protection controls that safeguard information per the classification level. Participate in risk assessment activities by gaining business process insights, gathering information, documenting observations, collaborating with stakeholders on mitigations and assisting with risk treatment tracking.

Support the implementation, operation, and monitoring of controls protecting in data in transit and at rest on a variety platforms and systems. Collaborate with the wider Micron security community as well as TPG Data Managers, Champions, TPG Workforce Development, TPG business process owners through knowledge shares, connecting collaborators with our services and resources and by supporting alignment activities.

Assist in evaluating and adopting approved security tools and methods to support IP protection capabilities at the task or project level. About Micron Technology, Inc.
