The Strategy & Business Development Senior Advisor - Corporate Strategy role will work on research and transaction-related projects under the direction of senior members of the Corporate Development team. The team provides counsel and advice to top management on significant business development matters.
This includes participation in the assessment of new markets, development of business plans, and analysis of specific opportunities especially due diligence activities related to merges, acquisitions, and divestitures. The function provides thought leadership and technical expertise across multiple disciplines and across all enterprise business units.
In this role, the candidate will be exposed to analytical techniques for evaluating inorganic opportunities, methods of competitive research, and transaction-related project management processes; and will gain a deeper understanding of Cigna's strategy and the role of business development and M&A in achieving our strategy.
Specific responsibilities of the Senior Advisor, Special Projects will include: Developing competitive information on targets of interest from public and private sources including strategic and financial analyses and briefing documents suitable for use by senior management Preparing analytical analyses of potential transactions including pro forma financials, valuation, financing structure and GAAP and cash basis accretion/dilution analyses Performing day to day management on core deal processes including business case development, data room review, question log administration, matrix team project management and collation of diligence findings Qualifications The candidate should have a good understanding of Cigna's businesses Demonstrated ability to perform strategic, quantitative, and financial analysis Excellent oral and written communications skills Comfortable working in large, Excel-based models and competent in the use of PowerPoint.
No previous transaction experience is required, but the candidate should have a solid grasp of basic financial concepts, particularly as they relate to insurance. The role reports to a Managing Director, Strategy and Business Development. This is an anticipated 2-year rotation.
If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload. For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of 130,100 - 216,800 USD / yearly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.
