Within our Insights and Commercial Excellence environment, the Business Insights team plays a meaningful role in helping the business make smarter, faster and more strategic decisions.
Partnering across Oncology, CVRM and Respiratory, the team converts detailed data into clear, actionable insight that supports product strategy, business performance and innovation. This team has a proven track record of developing talent and groundbreaking new ways of working.
They use AI, analytics, and digital tools to influence the evolution of commercial decision-making at AstraZeneca. What you'll do Prepare data-driven insights for business decision-makers to support business intelligence, optimise effectiveness and help predict business outcomes across new and established products.
Drive commercial analysis and modelling across multiple brands and therapy areas, delivering strategic insights that influence senior partners and support business performance. Analyse sales, competitor and market data using robust analytical and statistical approaches to identify trends, interpret patterns and generate actionable recommendations.
Access, clean and transform large and varied data sets into relevant insights, reports, dashboards and visualisations using Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI and Applied AI. Lead the development of robust forecasts, working cross-functionally to build sound assumptions for quarterly submissions, long-range planning and budget cycles.
Act as a trusted advisor to collaborators by understanding business needs, uncovering opportunities, constructively challenging thinking and contributing to the development or refinement of market strategies. Contribute to digital transformation initiatives involving new tools, improved analytics approaches, automation, and simplification across the business.
Essential for the role Degree in Business, Statistics, Marketing or an equivalent field. Experience gained in a Business Insights, Market Analyst, Commercial Analyst, Strategic Insights or similar analytical role. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Power BI.
Demonstrated knowledge of Applied AI, including experience with enterprise tools such as Microsoft Copilot, Claude Code or similar platforms. Strong experience in business modelling, forecasting, process improvement, simplification and automation.
Outstanding problem-solving, numerical, analytical and critical thinking skills. Experience in cross-functional business partnering and handling multiple participants effectively. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to translate technical analysis into clear business recommendations.
Desirable for the role Previous experience in an analytical role within the pharmaceutical industry. Experience in market research design. Experience in FP&A or broader commercial planning environments. Exposure to real-world evidence, launch analytics, brand performance analysis or multi-brand commercial modelling.
Experience working with varied stakeholder groups, including those less familiar with new technologies or data-led change. Why AstraZeneca?
