About This Role Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to design, build, and operate enterprise-scale, cloud-native applications. This role is a senior hands-on individual contributor responsible for delivering complex, high-impact solutions while ensuring production stability, performance, and security.

In This Role, You Will
- Lead complex technology initiatives including those that are companywide with broad impact Act as a key participant in developing standards and companywide best practices for engineering complex and large scale technology solutions for technology engineering disciplines Design, code, test, debug
- document for projects and programs Review and analyze complex, large-scale technology solutions for tactical and strategic business objectives, enterprise technological environment
- technical challenges that require in-depth evaluation of multiple factors, including intangibles or unprecedented technical factors Make decisions in developing standard and companywide best practices for engineering and technology solutions requiring understanding of industry best practices and new technologies, influencing and leading technology team to meet deliverables and drive new initiatives Collaborate and consult with key technical experts, senior technology team
- external industry groups to resolve complex technical issues and achieve goals Lead projects, teams
- serve as a peer mentor Required Qualifications: 5+ years of Software Engineering experience
- equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education Desired Qualifications: Lead architecture, design
- development using Node.js, React
- Azure Design and build enterprise-grade APIs (REST/event-driven) with proper governance Define API standards including versioning, documentation
- lifecycle management Deliver containerized applications using OpenShift / Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) integrated with enterprise databases Implement RBAC and SSO (SAML, OAuth, OIDC) Own end-to-end delivery including build, deploy
- production support Implement APM, observability, logging
- tracing Apply SDLC, CI/CD, testing
- code review best practices Ensure security, scalability, resiliency
- performance Lead NPI activities and ensure production readiness Collaborate across Product, Architecture, Infra
- Security Mentor engineers and drive continuous improvement. 8+ years software engineering experience Strong Node.js, React, Azure expertise Experience designing and building APIs (REST, event-driven, secure, versioned) Experience with containerized microservices (OpenShift / AKS) Database integration (SQL/NoSQL) SSO (SAML, OAuth, OIDC) and RBAC experience APM tools (App Insights, Dynatrace, Splunk, New Relic) Secure, scalable, production systems experience Global team collaboration experience DevOps, CI/CD expertise.
- Job Expectations: Financial services experience IAM and access governance familiarity Kubernetes and IaC experience API gateway / service mesh exposure Event-driven architecture knowledge NPI lifecycle experience SRE and performance tuning exposure.
