The Opportunity This position works out of our ARDx Informatics Division located in either Willis Tower in Chicago, IL or Charlottesville, VA. What You’ll Work On The Sr Staff Architect leads the development of reference architecture and implementation strategies for software solutions.

This involves promoting and governing adherence to architectural best practices, collaborating with development teams to design software architecture for medical devices, and optimizing software applications for performance and scalability.

Additionally, participate in requirements gathering, interface with cross-functional teams, and drive process improvements to enhance software development efficiency and quality. What You’ll Work On Develop software reference architecture, system and platform roadmaps, detailed technical solutions, and overall strategy of software solution implementation in native, web, and cloud applications.

Promote, guide, and govern adherence to good architectural practices and application of a well-defined reference architecture to deliver highest-quality software solutions. Partner with the development teams to create the concrete software architecture and design for the software-based medical device products.

Collaborate with development teams to support optimization of software application architectures for performance, scalability, and maintainability. Participate in requirements gathering, planning, and estimation efforts. Interface with mechanical, electrical, systems, and test engineers as well as quality assurance and regulatory compliance teams.

Participate in and recommend on-going professional development activities. Identify and implement process improvements often of a complex nature. Effectively contribute to development teams. Supports company initiatives and complies with regulatory requirements by FDA and other relevant global regulatory agencies Required Qualifications Bachelors Degree (± 16 years) in Computer Science in Engineering Mathematics, or related field Minimum 10 years with 10+ years of experience, Master’s Degree with 7+ years of related experience, or Ph.D. with 2+ years of related experience.

Experience working within a Linux environment Experience with at least one public cloud provider's platform: Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, and/or Google Cloud Platform Familiarity with data design and database technologies such as SQL Server, Postgres or similar Preferred team leadership experience and demonstrated mentorship capabilities.

Experience configuring, testing, and troubleshooting various networking products/solutions (e.g., Cisco ISR routers, ASA firewalls, Meraki, Palo Alto Firewalls, Checkpoint, Juniper, Fortinet, Riverbed, Barracuda, etc. Experience in customer success, resident engineer, network engineer, or similar roles Preferred Qualifications SaaS Experience RALS knowledge, AEGIS knowledge Preferred team leadership experience and demonstrated mentorship capabilities Ph.D. with 2+ years of related experience.

Expert understanding of architecture principles, patterns, frameworks, and blueprints. Expert in mobile technologies and languages for iOS and Android, including React Native, Swift, Kotlin, and C/C++ (on mobile). Expert understanding of data architecture and design practices for both local device and enterprise/cloud data solutions.

Expert understanding of database technologies, encompassing relational (e.g., MS SQL, MySQL, SQLite. Experience with Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CICD) Products like AzureDevOps, CircleCI, Harness, Jenkins, and Fastlane. Knowledge of Cybersecurity, System Safety, and Design for Six Sigma (DFSS).

Expert understanding of Cybersecurity best practices and solutions, with familiarity in cryptography concepts. Experience in application security aspects such as obfuscation and code protection. Experience in implementing mobile or cloud solutions or components.

Experience in documenting architectural and design decisions. Strong Computer Science fundamentals and extensive experience in software development. Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills, adept at adapting communication style to diverse audiences.
