Entry-level Software Engineer–Developers Company: The Boeing Company The Boeing Company is looking for Entry-level Software Engineer–Developers to be part of the Satellite Space Mission Systems team located in El Segundo, CA. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense Services (BDS) business organization.
The selected candidate will support the development of mission software written in Java, C++, Python, ReactJS. The candidate will collaborate with cross functional teams and stakeholders to design and implement software solutions, ensure engineering excellence, and achieve program objectives.
Position Responsibilities: Supports the design, development, test, and maintenance of software throughout the end-to-end lifecycle Assist with development, maintenance, and optimization of software products and functionalities for systems integrations Participate in the agile software development lifecycle including planning, reviews, and supporting customer meetings Debug and resolve issues identified to ensure reliability and efficiency of software products Support software development, participate in code reviews, and adhere to guidance on software standards and design principles.
Execute and document software research and development projects Assists in developing, establishing, monitoring and improving software processes This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience): Bachelor’s Degree Ability to obtain a DoD US Security Secret Clearance (Interim prestart, final post start) for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship Experience with C/C++ coding or java/python script development Experience with Git Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience): Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science and 0 years of related work experience OR Bachelor’s Degree and 4+ years of directly related work experience OR 8+ years of related, relevant experience 1+ years of experience in software development Experience working on a software development project that follows Agile and Scrum methodologies Experience with the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) Knowledge of software development processes in compliance with established internal and industry standards, guidelines, and best practices in the development, testing, and deployment of software Knowledge of implementation, validation, and verification processes, practices, and guidelines to ensure software development quality, performance, and safety Active Secret Clearance or higher Travel: less than 10% Conflict of Interest: Successful candidates for this job must satisfy the Company’s Conflict of Interest (COI) assessment process.
