AWS Data Centers (DC) are a major component of worldwide cloud-computing infrastructure and are industry leading examples of critical facilities. Architects and Engineers in AWS work to design resilient, cost effective and sustainable DC facilities. As an Architect at AWS you will have the opportunity to impact changes in our current design, as well as establish design procedures and protocols for future systems. The Civil, Structural and Architectural (CSA) design team is responsible for the building design of all Amazon DCs world-wide. The CSA team is seeking a senior Architect to become part of our growing APAC team. As a subject matter expert, you will have a direct impact on the design of prototypical DC facilities, provide technical guidance to team members, solve large scale implementation issues, site master planning and build a strong understanding of national and international design requirements. Responsibilities The Data Center Architect will be responsible for the following: - Lead and deliver in-house design. Design must be code compliant and fully coordinated with in-house design team. Design shall comply to AWS Basis of Design and constructable meeting AWS safety standards and local safety standards ( whichever is higher ). Lead design delivery packaging team and delivery design ready for pre-construction scope. - Work with the other design and engineering professionals on concepts and build projects. - Manage a portfolio of data center designs and features. - Development and maintenance of Basis of Design, prototype design
- template specifications for architectural/civil/structural elements. - Create architectural/civil/structural design RFPs. - Manage the work of our external consultants. - Coordinate with internal and external MEP design engineers. - Lead initiatives aimed at improving cost, quality, schedule
- consistency. - Work on multiple data center build and capital improvement projects simultaneously. - Travel for site assessments, consultant selection activities, internal design meetings, construction review
- to interface with Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJ), design consultants, quantity surveyors

- 6+ years of data center design, construction, operations
- facility maintenance experience - 6+ years of industrial or commercial engineering in mission critical facilities including but not limited to: data centers, power generation or oil and gas facilities experience - Professional Engineering or Architectural License - Knowledge of critical data center mechanical and electrical equipment - Experience in data center design, construction, operations
- facility maintenance - Experience in industrial or commercial engineering in mission critical facilities including but not limited to: data centers, power generation or oil and gas facilities - Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam
- Experience developing solutions and executing plans on complex projects - Knowledge of building codes and regulations for your region - Experience carrying design concepts through exploration, development
