- Job profile: Software System Designer (SWSD) – Powertrain Control Systems Looking to step up to system-level ownership -We are looking for engineers who are keen to move beyond task execution and take on end-to-end ownership at the System level. Our team works on comprehensive powertrain control solutions for global programs for a prominent OEM, covering both Gasoline and Diesel platforms. This role is not limited to development alone —You will be expected to understand system (powertrain as well as PCM) behavior, engage in technical discussions, and actively contribute to improving overall system performance. Nature of WorkIn the SWSD role, you will be involved in : Requirement elicitation and system-level design discussions Performing function and system level validation activities Engaging with OEM engineers, Calibration engineers and platform teams Debugging and resolving system-level issues by analyzing cause-and-effect chains from system components through to ECM peripheral level Supporting validation activities with OEM / calibration team and project delivery. The work spans across multiple domains including air, fuel, and exhaust systems, along with legislation-driven requirements across application and driver software functions, offering broad and meaningful exposure to the system. Technical Foundation Required Exposure to ICE powertrain systems (mandatory) Strong understanding of microcontrollers and their peripherals behavior. Experience in embedded systems development (C / RTOS) Strong debugging and analytical skills. Awareness of Engineering practices like DRBFM, FMEA is an added advantage. What You Will Gain Strong understanding of feature behavior at system and vehicle level Exposure to customer-facing technical discussions. Hands-on experience with system engineering practices like DRBFM, FMEA, structured problem solving. A clear growth path towards roles such as System Architect.
