Purpose: Seeking a C ategory D evelopment S pecialist to join Diageo’s Category Development team . T his role will be responsible for supporting the advisor team to ensur e our customer’s category and shelf management strategies are executed – including category assessment, consumer insights, performance evaluation, assortment optimization, planogram recommendations , etc. through a fact-based approach .
Complexity of Role: - Candidate will develop a solid understanding of the business, products, markets, and the needs of customers; be ing recognized as a shelf management expert in the Spirits category . - Complexity is high (very SKU intensive category) and flexibility is critical in a dynamic fast-paced environment . - The role requires a significant level of collaboration and the ability to build productive relationships with both internal and external stakeholder s.
Key Outputs/Deliverables: - Ma intain strong working relationships with retailer m erchant teams and cross - functional partners to support objectives , goals and outcomes. - Execute shelf recommendations to increase efficiency, conversion, improv e shopability , and optimize space to sales leveraging JDA and Shelf IQ technology. - Support regular report ing to highlight performance gaps and growth opportunities. - Utilize various data sources including syndicated data and retailer POS . - Assume ownership of assigned tools, processes, and tasks.
Experience/Skills : - Minimum 2-3 years of experience required in Category Management Space Planning , pre ferable in C PG or Adult Beverage Categor ies . - S trong technical capabilities with experience in software systems relevant to the Category Management function including space planning software (JDA and /or Shelf IQ ) and syndicated data s ources . - Advanced computer skills; proficient in Excel and Powerpoint . - Ability to connect insight to actionable store execution. - Strong project management, time management, and organizational skills are essential . - Must have ability to work independently in a remote environment.
