- recognition. Partnering closely with HR Business Partners, Compensation Specialists
- leads across all hierarchies, the mission is clear: building a caring Performance Culture and recognizing our talents' success. As our new Performance Specialist, you'll own end-to-end processes like Performance Review Processes, Fairness Checks
- Peer Feedback cycles — working on establishing a fair, evidence-based performance framework. You'll thrive here if you enjoy connecting the analytical and human sides of performance management: reading the data, spotting the pattern
- turning it into actionable steps while making sure our framework continuously improves.
- How you’ll make an impact:
- Own and continuously improve trivago's performance framework, including the Performance Review Cycles, Calibration
- Peer Feedback Cycles, end-to-end — rethinking how these processes evolve in an AI-driven world
- identifying where they can be simplified and made more effective.
- Analyze performance data, read the patterns, flag inconsistencies, and translate findings into clear, evidence-based recommendations for relevant stakeholders (Talent Development, HR Business Partners, C-Level).
- Connect the dots between Job Architecture, Performance, and Compensation — understanding how each topic connects to another.
- Communicate and educate talents and leads on the concepts you own, from operational details to the philosophy behind them, from company-wide presentations to internal articles.
- Partner and consult with key stakeholders, including HR Business Partners, Leads, and Compensation Specialists, to cultivate a culture of high performance.
- What you'll need to thrive:
- At least 3 years of experience in HR-related areas such as performance management, career development, or talent management, with a BA/BSc in economics, psychology, human resources, or equivalent hands-on experience.
- Strong analytical skills, including a solid grasp of statistics
- comfort working with structured people data (Excel, PowerBI) to surface insights and support fair, evidence-based decisions, backed by excellent communication skills in fluent English (our company language) to convey ideas with clarity and confidence to senior stakeholders.
- Demonstrated expertise in performance-based rewards and recognition systems, with a good understanding of Job Architecture and Compensation principles and how they connect to performance assessment (big picture thinking).
- An open and curious mindset toward AI tools and automation — you actively explore how AI can enhance your work, from analyzing feedback data to building lightweight tools that reduce manual effort.
- A genuine learning mindset — you approach challenges with curiosity, seek out feedback, and continuously look for ways to develop and grow.
- A performance mindset — you set ambitious goals for yourself and have the project management skills, determination, and resilience to take an idea from scratch and follow it through to completion.
