This individual contributor role leads the development and execution of strategic communications programs that support business objectives, strengthen reputation, and drive engagement. The role primarily focuses on external communications, media relations, storytelling, and executive visibility efforts that elevate Truist's brand and showcase innovation, transformation, and business impact.

Responsible for advancing and protecting Truist's reputation and brand while promoting Truist's culture. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Following is a summary of the essential functions for this job. Other duties may be performed, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below.

Specific activities may change from time to time. 1. Help drive the strategic communications planning process for a line of business or function. 2. Serve as a trusted communications advisor to business leaders, providing strategic counsel on reputation, messaging, stakeholder engagement, and communications opportunities. 3.

Develop and lead integrated external communications campaigns that elevate Truist's reputation, strengthen executive visibility, and showcase innovation, transformation, technology, data, and AI-driven initiatives. 4. Identify, develop, and execute compelling stories, thought leadership content, media materials, executive communications, and external messaging that support business priorities and market positioning. 5.

Build and maintain relationships with reporters, editors, and industry influencers; identify proactive media opportunities; and contribute to earned media placements that advance Truist's brand and business objectives. 6. Develop and manage an external editorial calendar that aligns storytelling opportunities with business priorities, industry trends, innovation milestones, and executive visibility opportunities. 7.

Identify and support speaking engagements, industry conferences, award submissions, media opportunities, and thought leadership initiatives that elevate the visibility of Truist leaders and initiatives. 8. Partner with internal stakeholders to communicate key business priorities and support leadership communications as needed. 9.

Use data, analytics, and media insights to inform communications strategies, measure effectiveness, and drive decision-making. 10. Responsibly apply AI and other technology tools to improve and streamline communications work while helping translate complex technology, data, AI, and transformation initiatives into compelling stories for external audiences.

QUALIFICATIONS Required Qualifications: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. 1.

Bachelor’s degree. 2. 7+ years of relevant communications experience or equivalent advanced educational training. 3. Proven experience in creating internal/external communications strategy. 4. Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills. 5.

Ability to manage complex stakeholder environments, influence others, and meet tight deadlines. 6. Excellent storytelling, writing, and content development skills. 7. Ability to exercise independent judgement in daily decision making 8. Experience using data and analytics to drive decisions 9.

Proficient in digital platforms, AI tools, and basic media formats. Preferred Qualifications 1. Experience developing and executing external communications, public relations, media relations, or reputation management strategies. 2. Demonstrated success developing, pitching, and securing earned media opportunities. 3.

Significant agency experience supporting media relations, executive visibility, reputation management, or corporate communications programs preferred. 4. Experience building and maintaining relationships with reporters, editors, analysts, or industry influencers. 5.

Experience leading integrated external communications campaigns from strategy through execution and measurement. 6. Experience supporting executive visibility through thought leadership programs, speaking engagements, conferences, award submissions, and media opportunities. 7.

Understanding of the technology, innovation, business, financial services, and/or digital transformation media landscape. 8. Experience translating complex topics, including technology, AI, data, digital transformation, engineering, or operational modernization initiatives into compelling external narratives. 9.

Experience supporting organizations undergoing transformation, modernization, innovation, or large-scale business change initiatives preferred. 10. Combination of agency and in-house communications experience preferred. General Description of Available Benefits for Eligible Employees of Truist Financial Corporation: All regular teammates (not temporary or contingent workers) working 20 hours or more per week are eligible for benefits, though eligibility for specific benefits may be determined by the division of Truist offering the position.
