Job Title: Manager - Finance Experience ROLE PURPOSE Manage financial integrity for assigned Diageo manufacturing entities through detailed review of the complete Trial Balance, all Balance Sheet and P&L GLs, and timely resolution of accounting and control issues.
Partner with Group Reporting, Supply Finance, P&L owners and process operations teams to deliver accurate, compliant and audit-ready results. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES Review the complete entity Trial Balance during month-end, quarter-end and year-end close; investigate unusual movements, misclassifications, incomplete postings and open items. Review all Balance Sheet GLs, ensuring reconciliations, substantiation, aging, movement explanations and supporting schedules are complete and compliant. Review the full P&L, validate accruals and reclassifications, analyse material variances and provide clear commentary to P&L owners and reporting stakeholders. Review manufacturing-related accounting areas including inventory, cost of goods sold, standard costs, production and purchase price variances, fixed assets, capital work in progress and manufacturing overheads. Act as the entity contact for Group Reporting on submissions, schedules, reporting queries, variance analysis and resolution of accounting issues. Coordinate external audit activities for assigned entities, including evidence review, query resolution and closure of audit actions. Review outputs from process operations teams including R2R, AP, AR, Intercompany, Inventory, Fixed Assets, Payroll and other finance processes to ensure accurate and compliant accounting. Identify control gaps, recurring exceptions and root causes, and drive timely remediation, standardisation and process improvement.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS Strong experience in financial accounting, entity reporting, TB review, Balance Sheet control and P&L analysis. Good understanding of manufacturing accounting, including inventory valuation, cost of goods sold, product costing, manufacturing variances, fixed assets and capital projects. Sound knowledge of IFRS, financial controls, group reporting and audit requirements. Ability to review reconciliations, journals, schedules, accounting issues and financial commentary with strong attention to detail. Strong communication, stakeholder management, challenge and problem-solving skills, with experience working under tight close timelines.
QUALIFICATIONS With professional certification such as CA, CPA, ACCA, CIMA, CMA or equivalent: 7-10.11 years of relevant experience. Without or with partial professional certification: 12-14.11 years of relevant experience, supported by a degree or master's qualification in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or a related discipline.
