Learn more at https://www.jnj.com/medtech Position Purpose The Senior Manager, Engineering – Americas Deliver Excellence position provides strategic leadership, governance, and operational oversight for automation, control systems, asset management, and engineering execution across all manufacturing, distribution, and Deliver sites within the North American and Latin American regions.

This role serves as the single point of accountability for the Americas engineering footprint. The primary objective is to elevate localized operations into a unified, pan-regional framework—bridging the gap between functional strategy and technical execution.

The role is responsible for establishing early-stage project governance, standardizing regional controls infrastructure, enforcing rigorous GxP/FDA/ISO compliance, and leading cross-border engineering teams to eliminate operational downtime and drive intelligent automation across the hemisphere.

Core Responsibilities & Duties Pan-Regional Leadership & Organizational Alignment Direct and manage the Americas engineering organizational footprint, providing strategic leadership to the North American and Latan American Engineering teams.

Act as the single point of contact for the Director, synthesizing regional updates and removing cross-border operational silos to establish a unified engineering front. Oversee the hiring, training, motivation, and professional development of engineering staff across the Americas; mentoring, challenging, and structuring the team to build regional leadership capacity.

Foster and encourage inclusiveness, diversity, and collaborative knowledge-sharing between NA and LATAM facilities to replicate engineering breakthroughs and elevate weaker operational nodes. 2. Early-Stage Project Governance & Strategy Serve as the primary Engineering stakeholder and authority in early-stage decision-making, architectural design, and project inception meetings for major capital projects, cloud migrations, and global initiatives (e.g., EWM, Transcend).

Integrate Warehouse Control/Execution Systems (WCS/WES), Enterprise Warehouse Management (EWM), and Material Handling Equipment (MHE) requirements early in the project lifecycle to eliminate design gaps and prevent late-stage vendor remediation rushes.

Drive the long-term adoption of Industry 4.0 technologies, ensuring that regional digital and automation solutions successfully enable intelligent automation on the shop floor and support a touchless Order-to-Cash (O2C) digital flow. 3. Operational Infrastructure, Asset Management & Risk Mitigation Provide proactive technical management and leadership to deliver safe, efficient, and reliable facilities, equipment, and preventative maintenance schedules across all regional Distribution Centers.

Design, implement, and champion advanced testing frameworks—including "Test Box" interface simulation environments and "Dual Mode" parallel processing—to allow thorough system validation without forcing operational downtime or taking production lines offline.

Remediate localized infrastructure vulnerabilities by deploying dedicated site-level tools, such as debug servers and scanner hardware test benches, empowering local teams to troubleshoot independently. Establish strict engineering documentation standards, ensuring critical facility assets (such as standard label drawings) are authored, maintained, and readily accessible across all regional sites.

Partner with 3PL or internal maintenance teams to develop robust processes, systems, and metrics for maintaining equipment effectiveness, spare parts optimization, and maintenance repair budgets across the Americas. 4. Technical Authority, Quality & Cybersecurity Compliance Serve as the senior technical authority and Point of Contact (PoC) for Warehouse Execution Systems infrastructure, Engineering Operational Technology (OT) systems, PLCs, Robotics, and Vision Systems.

Manage the implementation of Machine Safety standards through rigorous WRAPS assessments on-site and ensure the seamless execution of technical remediation plans. Support Quality and Operations in maintaining the qualified, validated, and compliant state of all GxP, GMP, FDA, and ISO-regulated equipment and systems.

Partner directly with OT Cybersecurity governance structures to safeguard connected infrastructure across both regional footprints. 5. Resource Management & Capacity Scaling Develop comprehensive regional business plans, project timelines, and master budget control metrics using standardized project management methodologies (e.g., FPX).

Partner with Quality, IT, Operations, and third-party logistics (3PL) providers to plan future capacity and process improvements in support of new products and the company's strategic growth plan. Monitor regional engineering workloads and strategically manage a pipeline of external contractors and vendors to scale detailed execution capacity during peak project demands.

Optimize internal engineering focus by identifying and offloading administrative and financial workflows (such as Purchase Order routing and procurement tracking) to supporting business units.
