Title and Summary Senior Software Engineer (Full Stack) Overview: The Mastercard Foundry Research & Development team identifies, evaluates

- rapid prototyping. The Senior Software Engineer will design and build full-stack applications, lead technical initiatives, mentor engineers
- develop architectural solutions that support new commerce experiences from concept through market validation. They will collaborate across engineering, product
- innovation teams to transform ideas into scalable solutions and technology platforms. About the Role:
- Develop full-stack applications and prototypes using modern technologies including React, TypeScript/JavaScript, Node.js, Java, Spring Boot and Python.
- Design, build and maintain scalable frontend applications, backend services and APIs that support new product concepts and innovation initiatives.
- Lead technical initiatives from ideation through implementation, providing architectural guidance and engineering leadership across projects.
- Create architecture diagrams, technical designs, and solution proposals to communicate complex concepts to engineering teams and leadership stakeholders.
- Present technical concepts, prototype outcomes and architectural recommendations to senior engineering, product and business leaders.
- Mentor junior engineers through technical coaching, code reviews, design reviews and engineering best practices.
- Research emerging technologies and evaluate their potential impact on commerce, payments, and digital experiences.
- Develop proof-of-concept solutions that validate new technologies, business opportunities, and product concepts.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, engineers, researchers, and external partners to bring ideas from concept through market validation.
- Participate in innovation programs and hackathons to create, build, and pitch new product ideas. All About You:
- Years of hands-on, dedicated software engineering experience with a proven track record of building and delivering production-grade applications.
- Strong frontend development expertise with React and TypeScript/JavaScript, alongside backend development experience using Java, Spring Boot, Python, and Node.js.
- Proven ability to design and build APIs, distributed systems, and cloud-native architectures on AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Experience producing technical designs, architecture artifacts, and engineering documentation to support scalable solutions.
- Demonstrated leadership in driving technical initiatives and mentoring engineers across the software development lifecycle.
- Ability to quickly learn and apply new technologies to research, prototyping, and product innovation.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to influence and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Passion for emerging technologies, including Artificial Intelligence, Agentic Systems, AR/VR, Computer Vision, Spatial Computing, and next-generation commerce experiences.
- Preferred experience with machine learning, generative AI, large language models, or autonomous agent systems.
- Preferred experience participating in innovation programs, startup collaborations, hackathons, or technology research initiatives.

In line with Mastercard’s total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in the US, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary and may be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions depending on the role.
