Job Title: DTRA SOF EOD Operations Integrator Travel: Local * * * The Opportunity: As a CACI Special Operations Forces (SOF) Operations Planner supporting the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA), you will embed directly with SOF EOD in Dam Neck (Virginia Beach), VA to provide specialized operational planning and technical advice.
You will act as a critical link, fusing intelligence and operational data to help commanders dismantle, disrupt, and defeat Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) threats globally
Responsibilities
- Direct Unit Support: Embed with SOF units to advise commanders on Crisis Response and Counter-WMD (CWMD) synchronization.
- Exercise & Training Design: Develop realistic training plans, scenarios, and objectives to validate unit tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs).
- Technical Integration: Bridge the gap between technical threat developments and real-world tactical ground operations.
- Reach-Back & Coordination: Manage DTRA support requests and coordinate specialized assets to fulfill subordinate element needs.
- Team Mentorship: Lead pre-deployment preparation and mentor new team members to ensure mission success.
- Operational Readiness: Support short-duration CONUS/OCONUS travel and temporary duty assignments (TDY)
Qualifications
- Required: Security Clearance: Active, current Top Secret / SCI.
- SOF Experience: Minimum 2 years providing operational support to SOF units or commands.
- EOD Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience within an Explosive Ordnance Disposal detachment.
- Deployment History: Minimum 1 year of forward-deployed experience assigned to a SOF unit.
- Planning Expertise: Minimum 5 years of experience utilizing the military planning cycle for tactical ground operations.
- Education & Experience Matrix: Bachelor’s degree + 3 years of experience, OR Associate degree + 7 years of experience, OR 9 years of relevant work experience (5 years if directly relevant to the role).
- Flexibility: Willingness to work rotating shifts (nights/weekends) and accept CONUS travel or 4-to-6-month OCONUS deployments.
- Communication: Proven ability to deliver daily feedback to team leads and author clear operational products.
- Contingency: Final hiring is contingent upon successful completion of a Command Board.
- Desired: 5+ years of tactical planning experience within SMUs, SOTFs, or higher echelons. 10+ years of military, academic, or defense industry experience.
- Recent deployment history supporting CWMD, Counter-Proliferation (CP), Attack the Network, CT, or C-IED operations.
- Direct experience collaborating with Interagency (IA), Intelligence Community (IC), or international coalition partners.
- Technical proficiency with SIPR/JWICS web-based intel tools, SharePoint, and Google Earth spatial analysis software.
