Caterpillar’s Connectivity System Team is hiring a Connectivity System Senior Engineer (System Integration / Product Owner) with expertise in telematics, connectivity platforms, and system integration across embedded and enterprise systems.
In this role, you will work on highly complex and scalable connectivity solutions spanning across CAT and non-CAT assets. This role combines system integration engineering and product ownership , requiring end-to-end ownership of connectivity features across embedded systems, connectivity layers, and enterprise/cloud ecosystems.
You will collaborate with global teams including Product Groups (RI, CI, P&E), Intelligent Machine Systems (IMS), Cat Digital, and platform teams to deliver high-quality, data-driven connectivity solutions aligned with customer and business needs.
What You’ll Do (Job Duties) Own and manage connectivity features , driving end-to-end lifecycle from requirements definition, system design, integration, validation, and release Drive end-to-end system integration across embedded systems, connectivity modules (5G/LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth), and enterprise/cloud platforms, ensuring consistent system behavior and readiness Act as a Product Owner , maintaining and prioritizing feature backlog (WSJF or similar), leading backlog grooming, and ensuring alignment with business priorities and system architecture Define and manage system and feature requirements (SRS/MFRD) with full traceability across system, software, and validation Collaborate with product teams, Cat Digital, architects, and onboard/offboard engineering teams to deliver scalable connectivity solutions aligned with customer use cases Lead system validation and quality assurance , ensuring full feature coverage, production readiness, and robust integration across all subsystems Perform deep system-level debugging and root cause analysis across embedded, connectivity, and cloud layers to resolve complex issues Apply DFMEA and Built-In Quality (BIQ) practices to proactively identify risks and ensure high system reliability Drive data-driven decision making using validation data, system insights, and field feedback to continuously improve performance and quality Support release management , including Go/No-Go decisions, release readiness, and tracking feature delivery Skill Descriptors Analytical Thinking: Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.

Supervises the advanced use of requirements analysis tools and services, including prototyping and use cases. Technical Troubleshooting: Knowledge of technical troubleshooting approaches, tools and techniques; ability to anticipate, recognize, and resolve technical issues on hardware, software, application or operation.
Level: Working Knowledge Discovers, analyzes, and resolves hardware, software or application problems. Works with vendor-specific diagnostic guides, tools and utilities. Handles calls related to product features, applications, and compatibility standards.
