The demand for AI compute is boundless, and power and infrastructure are the bottlenecks. As a Staff Quality Control (QC) Engineer , you will play a critical technical role in ensuring the integrity, performance, and reliability of Crusoe’s mission-critical data center infrastructure.
You will support quality across construction execution, system installation, inspection, commissioning readiness, and final turnover. This is a highly field-driven role at the intersection of construction, MEP systems, engineering, and commissioning, where quality directly impacts uptime, performance, and long-term reliability.
What You’ll Be Working On Execute and support the site-level QA/QC program for large-scale, mission-critical data center construction Support development and implementation of the Site-Level Quality Management Plan Develop, maintain, and execute Inspection Test Plans, checklists, inspection workflows, and quality documentation for assigned scopes Perform field inspections across civil, structural, electrical, mechanical, controls, and commissioning-related scopes, with strong emphasis on MEP system quality Validate installation against drawings, specifications, submittals, RFIs, approved materials, code requirements, and commissioning expectations Partner with construction managers, field engineers, general contractors, subcontractors, commissioning teams, and third-party inspectors to identify and resolve quality issues Support coordination with AHJs and third-party special inspectors on code compliance, inspection sign-offs, and documentation requirements Track and manage deficiencies, punch list items, inspection findings, and non-conformance reports through closure Support pre-functional and functional readiness activities in coordination with commissioning teams Review test reports, inspection records, as-builts, redlines, O&M manuals, and turnover documentation for completeness and accuracy Assist in root cause analysis for defects, rework, failed inspections, and recurring quality issues Use quality data, field observations, and defect trends to identify improvement opportunities Help enforce contractual quality requirements across GCs and subcontractors Maintain accurate inspection records, quality logs, reports, and documentation in construction management systems Escalate quality risks early to avoid downstream impact to schedule, commissioning, turnover, or operations What Success Looks Like Assigned scopes are inspected thoroughly and meet design, specification, code, and performance requirements MEP system installations are ready for commissioning with minimal rework Deficiencies, punch items, and NCRs are tracked clearly and closed in a timely manner Quality risks are identified early and communicated effectively Turnover documentation is complete, accurate, and audit-ready Construction and commissioning teams have clear visibility into quality status and readiness Repeat issues are reduced through consistent field execution and feedback loops Who You Are 7+ years of experience in construction QA/QC, quality engineering, field engineering, commissioning support, or related construction roles Strong understanding of MEP systems, including electrical distribution, mechanical/cooling systems, and controls Experience performing or supporting field inspections, punch walks, NCRs, deficiency tracking, and QA documentation Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, submittals, test reports, and technical documentation Experience supporting commissioning readiness, system turnover, or closeout documentation Comfortable working in a fast-paced, field-driven construction environment with multiple stakeholders Strong attention to detail and a disciplined approach to documentation, inspections, and follow-through Ability to communicate clearly with construction teams, subcontractors, inspectors, commissioning teams, and internal stakeholders Analytical mindset with ability to use quality data, inspection findings, and defect trends to support better execution Strong ownership mentality and willingness to proactively identify and resolve quality issues in the field Nice to Have Data center or hyperscale construction experience Experience in complex construction environments such as healthcare, semiconductor, refinery, central plants, power, or industrial infrastructure Experience working directly with commissioning teams Familiarity with Procore, BIM360, Autodesk Build, Bluebeam, or similar construction management platforms Relevant certifications such as CQM, CQI, PMP, ASQ, or similar Experience with electrical, mechanical, controls, or integrated system testing documentation Additional Expectations Willingness to be on-site full-time in Amarillo, TX Ability to work closely with field teams, trade partners, and commissioning teams in active construction environments Ability to hold contractors accountable to quality standards, including escalation when to $135,000 -$165,000 + Bonus.
Restricted Stock Units are included in all offers. Compensation to be determined by the applicants knowledge, education, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
