Leveraging SolidWorks and strong engineering fundamentals, you'll transform concepts into reality through 3D models, engineering drawings, prototypes, and creative design solutions. Turn Engineering Insights into High-Performance Solutions Put your analytical skills to work by validating and optimizing product designs through calculations, simulations, testing, and real-world evaluation. Working closely with manufacturing teams, you'll tackle product and process challenges, perform root cause analysis, and implement design improvements that enhance reliability and efficiency. By building strong relationships and maintaining open communication, you'll help ensure products meet customer expectations, business objectives, and project timelines while delivering exceptional value. Get Hands-On and Turn Ideas into Reality You will spend time working directly with prototypes, equipment, tools, and manufacturing processes to validate designs and support product development activities.

Your strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to engage on the shop floor will allow you to bridge the gap between engineering concepts and practical implementation. What you need to do to be successful in this role: Apply Strong Product Design and Mechanical Engineering Fundamentals Demonstrate knowledge of mechanical design principles, materials, manufacturing processes, and Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA), while applying strong mechanical aptitude to develop practical and effective product solutions.

Analyze Problems and Develop Innovative Solutions Utilize structured problem-solving techniques to identify root causes, evaluate alternatives, and implement innovative solutions that improve product performance, manufacturability, quality, and cost.

Develop and Validate Engineering Designs Create accurate CAD models, engineering drawings, and design documentation, while using prototypes, test equipment, power tools, and shop-floor resources to validate designs and troubleshoot issues. Manage Projects and Priorities Independently Take ownership of projects and assignments, effectively balancing multiple priorities and delivering high-quality results with minimal supervision.

Collaborate and Communicate Effectively Build strong relationships across cross-functional teams and communicate technical information clearly to stakeholders with varying levels of technical expertise to achieve project objectives. Qualifications Undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline. 1-2 years of engineering experience in product design, product development, manufacturing engineering.

Proficiency with SolidWorks or similar CAD software and engineering drawing creation. Knowledge of product design principles, materials, manufacturing processes, and Design for Manufacturing and Assembly. Experience conducting engineering analysis, simulations, or validation activities.

Experience with FEA, thermal, or flow simulation software is considered an asset. Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to understand and troubleshoot mechanical systems and assemblies. Hands-on experience working with power tools, prototypes, testing equipment, and manufacturing environments.

Welding knowledge or experience, particularly GMAW welding processes, is considered an asset. Electrical and controls system knowledge is considered an asset. Strong organizational, project management, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a cross-functional team environment. Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand, talk, hear, reach, grab, with hands and arms and regularly required to walk.

Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Combination of standard office and production environments. Occasional exposure to Manufacturing environment with exposure to heat, welding arc, welding fume, machinery, and controlled chemicals.

Occasional exposure to noises in production environment from drills, pneumatic tools, forklifts, vacuum, vent, and other general production activities. Compensation Information: Salary Range : The Product Design Engineer compensation package offers a competitive annual salary with an estimated range of $62,000 CAN to $75,000 CAN dependent on the geographic location, the successful candidate’s qualifications, and prior experience.
