As an Amazon Field Engineering (FE) Manager, you will manage a team that provides full life-cycle support to AWS Leased/Owned Data Centers from design inception through site improvement and maintenance. Your team will be the ‘go to’ engineering resource for your region when technical advice is needed

- Manage team and individual performance, including promotions.
- Create and improve metrics, driving efficiencies in repeatable work.
- Apply high judgement to make trade-offs on competing business needs.
- Establish strategic direction of the Cluster and Regional APJC team, and influence roadmaps of technical or business partner teams.
- Identify resource requirements and gaps, establishing a regional team roadmap to success.
- Work directly with partner teams to implement new and improve existing processes and procedures, within their region and propagate globally where necessary.
- Drive strategic communication, provides a technical strategy with limited guidance within their assigned Region.
- Identify risks and complexity to unblock engineers and partner teams.
- Drive team timeliness, quality, operational stability and success meeting customer requirements/business objectives. Can identify where to simplify, optimize, and reduce overhead.
- Establish and/or streamline metrics, development, engineering, test, and operational excellence best practices. Share best practices with peers.
- Build trust and relationships with different stakeholders (e.g., Operations, Commissioning, Construction and Design) A day in the life You will interact with different teams responsible for all aspects of data centers. - Bachelor's degree or above in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering - 1+ years of engineering team management experience
- Experience prioritizing and handling multiple assignments at any given time while maintaining commitment to deadlines - Knowledge of the electrical and mechanical systems involved in critical data center operations including systems such as feeders, transformers, generators, switchgear, UPS systems, ATS units, PDU units, chillers, pumps, air handling units
