About this role: Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Software Engineer with UI/UX, ReactJS skills In this role, you will: Lead complex technology initiatives including those that are companywide with broad impact Act as a key participant in developing standards and companywide best practices for engineering complex and large scale technology solutions for technology engineering disciplines Design, code, test, debug, and document for projects and programs Review and analyze complex, large-scale technology solutions for tactical and strategic business objectives, enterprise technological environment, and technical challenges that require in-depth evaluation of multiple factors, including intangibles or unprecedented technical factors Make decisions in developing standard and companywide best practices for engineering and technology solutions requiring understanding of industry best practices and new technologies, influencing and leading technology team to meet deliverables and drive new initiatives Collaborate and consult with key technical experts, senior technology team, and external industry groups to resolve complex technical issues and achieve goals Lead projects, teams, or serve as a peer mentor Required Qualifications: 5+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education Desired Qualifications: The Lead Software Engineer (UI/UX Lead) is responsible for designing, developing, and delivering modern, scalable, and accessible user interfaces using ReactJS and related front-end technologies.
This role provides technical leadership, drives UI architecture decisions, mentors engineers, collaborates with UX designers and backend teams, and ensures delivery of high-quality digital experiences aligned with business objectives. The role also involves code reviews, performance optimization, and adoption of engineering best practices.
Key Responsibilities Technical Leadership Lead the design and development of enterprise-grade web applications using ReactJS. Define front-end architecture, coding standards, and UI engineering best practices. Conduct code reviews and mentor development teams on modern UI development patterns.
Drive reusable component library and design system adoption. Collaborate with architects and product teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions. UI/UX Engineering Build responsive, accessible, and intuitive user interfaces.
Partner with UX designers to implement pixel-perfect designs. Ensure compliance with accessibility standards (WCAG) and responsive design principles. Optimize application performance, usability, and browser compatibility. Develop reusable UI components and front-end frameworks.
Application Development Design, build, test, and deploy front-end applications. Integrate UI applications with REST APIs and microservices. Support CI/CD pipelines and automated testing strategies. Troubleshoot production issues and drive root-cause resolution.
Participate in modernization and cloud transformation initiatives. Hands-on experience with ReactJS development. Strong expertise in: ReactJS (Hooks, Context API, Redux) JavaScript (ES6+) TypeScript HTML5 CSS3 / SASS / Styled Components Responsive Web Design Experience integrating with RESTful APIs and Microservices.
Strong understanding of UI architecture and design patterns. Experience with Git, CI/CD, and Agile methodologies. Ability to lead technical discussions and mentor engineers. Job Expectations: The LSE is expected to serve as the technical lead for UI engineering initiatives, providing direction on ReactJS architecture, coding standards, design patterns, and modern front-end engineering practices.
The engineer should drive solution design decisions, perform code reviews, guide technology evaluations, and collaborate with architects and product owners to ensure scalable, maintainable, and secure solutions. Success Indicators Drives front-end architecture standards.
