As a Physical Security Engineering Manager, you will lead a regional team in the Security Systems Critical Infrastructure (SSCI) team responsible for managing security systems for Microsoft datacenters. The SSCI team is responsible for delivering & sustaining physical security infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft's online services including Bing, Office 365, Xbox, OneDrive, and the Microsoft Azure platform.

This includes managing the health of physical security systems across a portfolio of locations through break/fix operations, participating in on-call DRI rotation to provide support, ensuring that systems & hardware are configured in alignment with baseline standards, driving program improvements in partnership with other teams, and enabling the delivery of new datacenter capacity through programming access control and video systems.

Drive positive collaboration across teams by promoting the open exchange of information, resolving issues within and beyond your immediate team, managing conflict and teamwork challenges, and removing barriers to enable teams to quickly shift priorities without losing productivity.

Technical Knowledge and Expertise Provide Subject Matter Expertise in the deployment of security systems technologies and support high visibility needs of the business on a variety of special projects which often involve expedited deliverables, operational agility, and impact to operational functions.

Collaboration and Partner Experience Collaborate with leads across various disciplines (engineering, project management, security operations, and design) to align and drive clarity on broader strategy, initiatives, and priorities. Engineering Excellence and Operational Improvements Develop and assess data to continuously improve and mature the overall program.

Identify system performance trends to proactively address hardware and application issues to ensure that system is operating in an optimal state. Collaborate on planning and the execution of engineering projects to replace end of life hardware, apply system patches, upgrade security systems, and architectural improvements that improve our overall security posture.

Monitor and manage security systems engineering team and vendor SLAs to ensure key results are being met and systems are maintained and operational. Act as a source for direction, training, and guidance for all teams, demonstrating leadership ability in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications Required Qualifications: Experience in software development lifecycle, large-scale computing, modeling, cyber security, anomaly detection, Security Operations Center (SOC) detection, threat analytics, security incident and event management (SIEM), and information technology (IT) operations OR Master's Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science or related field.

Background Check Requirements: Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in software development lifecycle, large scale computing, modeling, cyber security, and anomaly detection OR Doctorate in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science or related field.
  • Experience in people management.
  • Exeprience in leading a security function (e.g., Security Operations Center [SOC], threat and vulnerabillity management [TVM]).
  • Experience in leading multi-disciplinary team.
  • CISSP, CISA, CISM, SANS, GCIA, GCIH, OSCP, and/or Security+ certification.
  • Security Operations Engineering M4 - The typical base pay range for this role across United Kingdom is £ 74,700.00 - £ 112,100.00 per year.
