Promotions are integral to Amazon’s ability to deliver on its everyday low-price promise to customers. With millions of products available on Amazon, Promotions develops technology to create, message
- calculate discounts for promotional campaigns for all Amazon websites world-wide as well as those of our e-commerce partners. Our systems are invoked by website shopping applications hundreds of millions of times each day! The Senior Financial Analyst will drive financial modeling, month-end processes, strategic analyses, free-cash-flow initiatives
- will standardize global promotions metrics. The successful candidate will have excellent analytical, financial modelling
- planning skills. They will also possess strong business partnership and project management skills and collaborate effectively with stakeholders. The candidate will also have a high bias for action, passion to learn and be curious in a complex space
- ability to influence cross-functionally (e.g., with Product Managers). Key job responsibilities - Work closely with Promotions team to set up, execute
- analyze strategic initiatives to drive long term free cash flow - Provide critical insights to the Promotions leadership team by owning weekly and monthly reporting processes. Build and maintain financial and operational reports to inform business decision-making, ensuring completeness and accuracy with support from peers and managers - Develop in-depth knowledge across key business areas by staying current on initiatives and developing challenges/opportunities across the business - Develop metrics reporting and audit mechanisms to measure the accuracy of newly launched programs and initiatives - Extract and validate data from multiple sources, identifying and resolving discrepancies while escalating complex issues appropriately
- 3+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience - 3+ years of identifying, leading
- executing opportunities to improve, automate, standardize or simplify finance or business tools and processes experience - 3+ years of dissecting financial data and identifying patterns that support business strategy experience - 3+ years of contributing to cross-functional initiatives that drive financial performance and strategy experience - Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or related field
- 4+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience - MBA
