Our values – care, courage and curiosity – guide how we work and how we treat each other. About the role We are looking for an experienced and motivated Health and Safety Advisor to provide dedicated health and safety support to the Operations and Closure teams at Gove.

The role will also partner with contractors to support the safe delivery of services and projects. This is an outstanding opportunity to step into a visible, value-adding role where you will shape safety outcomes, influence critical risk performance and build broad exposure across operational, contractor and closure environments at Gove.

Reporting to the Superintendent Health & Safety and working as part of a high-performing, cross-functional team, you will provide trusted safety advice and partner with leaders, contractors and frontline teams to strengthen critical risk management, assurance and continuous improvement across Gove Operations and Closure.

Lead and support the delivery of strategic health and safety initiatives that strengthen performance across Gove Operations and Closure Coach, mentor and influence supervisors, contractors and frontline teams to ensure critical risks are understood, controlled and consistently managed Facilitate incident review and risk management workshops, including sessions attended by senior leaders Conduct and oversee incident investigations using Essential Factors or TapRoot methodologies, and communicate findings and actions to senior leadership Analyse health and safety trends, identify systemic issues and drive practical, sustainable improvement initiatives Provide subject matter expertise in critical risk management programs, risk management systems and first line assurance activities Partner with contractor organisations to support the safe delivery of services and projects in line with Rio Tinto standards Work autonomously in the field while collaborating effectively across operational, closure and functional teams About you To succeed in this role, you will bring strong technical safety capability, sound judgement and the confidence to influence across all levels of the business.

Gove bauxite is shipped internationally as well as domestically to supply Queensland Alumina Limited and Yarwun refineries in Gladstone, Queensland.
