Amazon.com, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMZN), a Fortune 500 company based in Seattle, opened on the World Wide Web in July 1995 and today offers Earth's Biggest Selection. Amazon.com, Inc. seeks to be Earth's most customer-centric company, where customers can find and discover anything they might want to buy online, and endeavors to offer its customers the lowest possible prices.

Today, we operate retail websites in nine countries, offering millions of products in more than 40 categories worldwide, and we still like to work hard, have fun and make history! Retail Business Services (RBS) Brand Experience (BX) leverages technology to improve customer experience and selling partner experience while lowering Amazon's cost structure.

Our north star is WW Brand Profitability — ensuring that brands selling on Amazon can identify growth-limiting defects, take decisive action, and realize measurable business outcomes. RBS BX operates across multiple defect categories (selection, content, pricing, promotions, fulfillment, and customer experience) and is building the foundational intelligence platform that powers the closed-loop system: defect detection → brand insight → guided action → verified resolution — at WW scale across millions of ASINs and thousands of brands.

As the Senior Product Manager for Core Capabilities & Foundations, you will own the product vision, strategy, and delivery for the horizontal platform layer that enables all vertical pillars to operate at scale. This includes the defect detection and classification engine, the insight generation and recommendation framework, the brand-facing experience surfaces (notifications, dashboards, action workflows), the resolution tracking and closed-loop measurement infrastructure, and the data pipelines and ML models that power precision and personalization across defect types.

You are building the "operating system" for brand defect resolution — the shared capabilities that every pillar depends on to deliver actionable, measurable outcomes to brands. You will think in systems, not features. Your product decisions will determine whether RBS BX can scale from individual defect-type solutions to a unified, intelligent brand growth platform.

You will define what capabilities are horizontal (shared across all pillars) vs. vertical (pillar-specific), drive architectural decisions that enable rapid pillar onboarding, and own the experience consistency that makes the platform feel coherent to brands regardless of which defect type they're resolving.

You will be expected to translate complex brand and business requirements into clear product specifications, drive alignment across multiple engineering teams and pillar product owners, make sound prioritization decisions across competing demands from 6+ vertical workstreams, and maintain relentless focus on the metrics that matter: brand action take-rate, time-to-resolution, insight precision, and platform scalability.

You will own the product roadmap from discovery through launch, validate solutions through experimentation, and present product strategy to VP-level leadership. A successful candidate will combine deep product intuition with strong technical fluency — able to engage meaningfully on data architecture, ML model design, API contracts, and UX patterns.

You will thrive in ambiguity, demonstrate exceptional judgment on what to build (and what not to build), influence without authority across engineering, science, design, and business teams, and bring a founder's mentality to building a product that doesn't fully exist yet

Responsibilities

  • Own the product vision and multi-year strategy for the core platform layer — defining the foundational capabilities (defect detection, insight generation, recommendation engine, action orchestration, resolution tracking, brand experience surfaces) that all vertical pillars depend on to deliver outcomes at scale.
  • Define and maintain the platform architecture from a product perspective — determining which capabilities are horizontal (shared infrastructure) vs. vertical (pillar-specific), establishing the contracts and interfaces between platform and pillars
  • ensuring the system can onboard new defect types without re-architecting.
  • Drive the product roadmap for core capabilities, balancing near-term pillar unblocking with long-term platform scalability.
  • Make hard prioritization calls across 6+ vertical workstreams competing for platform capacity, using data, customer signal, and strategic judgment.
  • Own the brand-facing experience layer — the unified surfaces (dashboards, notifications, action workflows, progress tracking) through which brands interact with defect insights and resolution paths.
  • Ensure experience consistency, progressive disclosure of complexity, and clear information hierarchy regardless of defect type.
  • Define product requirements for the ML/science-powered components — recommendation precision, defect classification accuracy, insight personalization, and predictive prioritization.
  • Partner with Applied Science teams to translate business objectives into model performance targets and evaluation frameworks.
  • Own the closed-loop measurement infrastructure as a product — ensuring that every insight delivered can be tracked through brand action → resolution verification → business impact attribution.
  • This is the foundation of the platform's credibility and the basis for all pillar-level KPIs.
  • Drive experimentation strategy across the platform — A/B testing recommendation formats, notification timing, action complexity, and UX patterns to continuously improve brand engagement and action take-rates.
  • Build the experimentation infrastructure as a reusable platform capability.
  • Partner with engineering leadership to make build-vs-buy-vs-integrate decisions, define technical feasibility boundaries
  • ensure the platform architecture supports WW scale (multi-marketplace, multi-language, multi-brand-type).
  • Establish and manage platform-level KPIs: brand action take-rate, recommendation precision/recall, time-to-action, resolution verification rate, pillar onboarding velocity, and platform reliability.
  • Report on platform health and capability maturity through VP-level business reviews.
  • Represent the platform product perspective in OP planning, investment proposals
  • strategy narratives — articulating the leverage that core capabilities provide across all pillars and making the case for foundational investment vs. pillar-specific feature work

Basic Qualifications

  • 7+ years of product management experience in technology-driven environments Experience owning and delivering platform/infrastructure products that serve multiple consumer-facing applications Strong technical fluency — able to engage on system design, data architecture, ML model tradeoffs
  • API design Track record of shipping products at scale (millions of users or entities) Experience defining and managing product metrics, running experiments
  • using data to drive decisions Demonstrated ability to influence across engineering, science, design
  • business teams without direct authority Preferred Qualifications: Experience building marketplace or brand/seller-facing products Familiarity with defect detection systems, recommendation engines
  • insight-to-action platforms Experience working in multi-pillar product organizations where platform vs. vertical tradeoffs are a daily reality Strong writing skills — ability to produce crisp 1-pagers, PRFAQs
  • strategy narratives MBA or equivalent business strategy experience combined with technical product delivery
  • 5+ years of product or program management, product marketing, business development or technology experience - Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product - Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition - Experience with end to end product delivery - Experience as a product manager or owner - Experience owning technology products
