As a Communications Advisor within PNC's Marketing & Communications organization, you will be based in Pittsburgh, PA. As an event and meeting planner on the Corporate Events Team, you will be a member of The PNC Financial Services Group’s Marketing & Communications department that is made up of over 300 professionals. The role of the corporate events planner is to effectively plan and execute events that build a positive internal and external reputation for PNC and create a memorable experience for attendees. The individual selected will manage the planning and execution of events and meetings of varying size, complexity
  • visibility. This role partners with internal clients to provide recommendations on attendee experience, logistics, budgeting
  • event execution. Depending on the size and scope of the program, the planner may manage events independently or collaborate with other event team members to execute larger initiatives. The successful candidate will manage multiple projects simultaneously while continuing to expand expertise in event planning, client service
  • project management. Opportunities exist to assume increased responsibility and broader event management opportunities as experience grows. This position is based in Pittsburgh. Responsibilities require time in office, with domestic event-related travel approximately 8-10 times per year. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Manage the planning and execution of events and meetings of varying size, complexity, and visibility, either independently or in partnership with other event planners.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to clients by providing recommendations on event strategy, attendee experience, logistics, and execution.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, vendors, internal partners, and event planning colleagues.
  • Manage event timelines, planning documents, attendee communications, and project deliverables to ensure successful execution.
  • Utilize Cvent and other event technologies to manage registration, communications, reporting, and attendee engagement.
  • Coordinate venue sourcing, proposal evaluation, contract negotiations, vendor management, and event logistics based on event size and scope.
  • Manage event budgets, invoice processing, and financial reconciliation while ensuring adherence to established guidelines and controls.
  • Develop recommendations related to event design, attendee engagement, décor, and overall experience to support event objectives.
  • Anticipate and resolve event-related challenges by evaluating options and implementing appropriate solutions to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Maintain confidentiality of workplace information in accordance with PNC policies and procedures.
  • Work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and travel, as business needs require. Identifies issues and opportunities, helps to contribute on all aspects of communication with the organization, and engages other parts of the organization to help ensure strategic alignment, clarity, and accuracy of message. Proactively collects and synthesizes data in order to identify trends. Readily identifies tactical and strategic implications. Actively participates on cross-functional teams, influences outcomes, and evaluates success as appropriate. Implements and oversees activities including approval requirements, coordination with legal, compliance, finance, risk and other key partners. Helps partner with agencies, third parties and internal business partners to coordinate development and execution of programs/initiatives.
