Position Overview This position will lead the design, development, optimization, and support of enterprise data engineering solutions that enable critical business operations and data-driven decision-making across the organization. The role will partner with business stakeholders, architects, product owners, and engineering teams to translate complex data requirements into scalable, secure, and high-performing solutions.
The Software Engineering Lead Analyst will serve as a technical lead and hands-on contributor, responsible for designing and maintaining data models, database solutions, integration pipelines, and cloud-based data platforms. This role will drive data quality, performance optimization, production stability, and modernization initiatives while providing technical guidance, mentoring engineers, and promoting engineering best practices.
The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in Oracle, PostgreSQL, modern data engineering technologies, and cloud platforms, with the ability to lead complex, data-intensive initiatives, collaborate across cross-functional teams, and deliver reliable, scalable solutions that support business objectives.This role requires close collaboration with globally distributed teams and stakeholders and flexibility to support key business and delivery activities across time zones as needed
Responsibilities
- Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain complex SQL, PL/SQL packages, stored procedures, functions, views, triggers, and database objects across Oracle and PostgreSQL environments.
- Design scalable data models, data pipelines, and integration solutions that support critical business and operational processes.
- Lead technical design discussions and provide architectural guidance for data engineering solutions across multiple CRD applications.
- Drive database performance tuning, query optimization, indexing strategies, partitioning, and capacity planning activities.
- Ensure data accuracy, integrity, consistency, lineage, and governance across multiple systems and environments.
- Develop and maintain automated data processing, validation, reconciliation, and monitoring solutions using Python and Shell scripting.
- Collaborate with application developers, data analysts, architects, DevOps engineers, and business stakeholders to deliver end-to-end solutions.
- Troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, implement corrective actions, and drive operational excellence.
- Participate in release planning, estimation, sprint execution, and production deployment activities.
- Mentor engineers, conduct code reviews, establish development standards, and promote engineering best practices.
- Support cloud migration, database modernization, and application transformation initiatives.
- Leadership Responsibilities Provide technical leadership and direction to a distributed team of data and software engineers.
- Own delivery commitments for critical data engineering initiatives and ensure high-quality execution.
- Partner with onshore and offshore stakeholders to prioritize work, manage risks, and drive outcomes.
- Coach and mentor team members, fostering continuous learning and technical growth.
- Drive engineering excellence through design reviews, code reviews, documentation, and knowledge-sharing sessions.
- Influence technical decisions and contribute to strategic technology roadmaps.
- Qualifications Required Skills: 7+ years of software engineering, database engineering, or data engineering experience.
- Strong hands-on expertise in Oracle and PostgreSQL databases.
- Expert-level SQL development, query optimization, and performance tuning.
- Deep understanding of relational database concepts, normalization, indexing, partitioning, and data modeling.
- Hands-on experience with PL/SQL development including packages, procedures, functions, and triggers.
- Experience building ETL/ELT pipelines and enterprise data integration solutions.
- Hands-on experience with Python and Shell scripting.
- Experience working with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB, Cassandra, DynamoDB, or Redis.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.
- Good understanding of Healthcare and PBM business processes.
- Cloud & Data Platform Experience (Preferred) Experience with AWS services such as RDS, Aurora PostgreSQL, S3, Lambda, Glue, Redshift, ECS, and CloudWatch.
- Experience with cloud-native data platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks, or similar analytical platforms.
- Experience designing and supporting scalable data lakes and modern data architectures.
- Knowledge of event-driven architectures using Kafka or similar messaging platforms.
- Exposure to container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes/OpenShift.
- Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or similar tools.
- Experience with data quality, observability, metadata management, and governance frameworks.
- Nice to Have Experience with Java/Spring Boot for data integration services.
- Knowledge of healthcare claims, prior authorization, member, provider, or formulary data domains.
- Experience supporting large-scale, mission-critical production systems.
- Exposure to AI/ML data pipelines and analytics platforms.
- Required Experience & Education: 7+ years of experience in Software Engineering/Data Engineering, including at least 5 years of hands-on experience in Oracle, PostgreSQL, SQL optimization
- data engineering technologies.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Engineering, Technology Management, or related discipline.
