each other. As a Satellite Communication (SATCOM) System Engineer, you will be responsible for Customer Terminal (CT) architecture, integration and validation with hardware, software
firmware. You will work in a collaborative environment with a multi-disciplinary team including electrical hardware, antenna, simulation, silicon, algorithm, firmware
software engineers. Key job responsibilities In this role, your responsibilities include:
Develop the CT architecture by working closely with sub-system engineers in electrical, RF, antenna, thermal, modem, DSP, ASIC, algorithm, firmware, modeling, and software
Develop the validation plans, build the validation infrastructure, execute testing, analyze data, and report the results to the stakeholders
Investigate and resolve validation failures by leading cross-functional teams
Ensure the delivered work meets technical, functional, performance, regulatory, and business requirements
Perform in-field and on-orbit validation with satellites
Travel up to 10% of the time, depending on project phases Export Control Requirement: Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder)
lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum. A day in the life As a SATCOM System Engineer on the Amazon Leo Customer Terminal Team, you will work daily with electrical hardware, RF, antenna, silicon
product design engineers, as well as software and operations teams in a collaborative environment. Your focus will be on architecting, integrating
verifying customer terminal functional performance to ensure it delights our customers. About the team The Leo Customer Terminal team is responsible for developing both outdoor & indoor devices, enabling customers internet service via the Leo satellite network. We own the entire process from early prototypes through mass production including requirements documents, architecture definition, hardware development
all integration/verification testing.
Experience leading the design, automation, deployment
support of large-scale infrastructure - Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, physics
other relevant engineering discipline - 5+ years of satellite terminal development, integration
validation experience - 3+ years of hardware design and validation of components and subsystems experience - Strong understanding of communication systems, RF
phased array antenna - Experience in MATLAB, Python or C++ - Familiarity with test instruments such as oscilloscope, spectrum analyzers, vector signal analyzers, vector signal generators, channel emulators, network emulators
GNSS emulators - Experience in developing complex telecommunication, antenna, and/or satellite communication systems - Experience in developing mobility terminals
Master’s or PhD degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or other relevant engineering discipline - Knowledge of digital communication systems, error correction, synchronization, spread spectrum, single and multi-carrier techniques
modulation types such as QPSK, APSK
QAM - Experience working with mobility satellite terminals such as maritime, aeronautical
automotive - Understanding of free space communication and satellite link budget principles in Ka-band - Experience in developing simulation and modeling tools - Familiarity with active and passive RF components, EE hardware, beamforming circuits
