The role with us The Senior Contract Specialist – TUSOPA will manage high-value commercial agreements to ensure strong contract governance, performance and compliance with Telstra’s obligations, particularly under TUSOPA and related arrangements.

The role drives stakeholder engagement, risk management and contract optimisation, ensuring contractual outcomes are effectively delivered and support Telstra’s strategic, regulatory and operational objectives. TUSOPA (Telstra Universal Service Obligation Performance Agreement) is one of the nbn Definitive Agreements, with payments for delivery of USO Standard Telephone Services, public payphones and the Triple Zero Emergency Call Person (ECP) function.

What We Offer Performance-related pay Access to thousands of learning programs so you can level-up Global presence across 22 countries Purchased annual leave scheme Additional Telstra day off Additional 30% off Telstra products and services Toolkit provided (laptop + mobile phone + plan paid for) Key responsibilities As the Senior Contract Specialist , you will support the management and delivery of TUSOPA and related commercial contracts, with responsibilities including: Ongoing management of a large, long-term, high-value contract with multiple disparate modules Manage regular and ad hoc meetings with, reporting to and requests from the Department of Communications in relation to TUSOPA, including preparing, coordinating and conducting contract review meetings Work with operational leads from across the business to ensure compliance with TUSOPA contract obligations, including: Leading internal governance relating to TUSOPA Identifying and overseeing management of risks to contractual obligations as well as contract-related risks to Telstra Overseeing performance against TUSOPA service standards, benchmarks and performance indicators, including monitoring, escalation and resolution of compliance risks Lead annual and other agreed invoicing, reconciliation and recovery of TUSOPA payments, including major annual payments and Module-specific fees, ensuring they are paid on time and in full Develop and maintain contractual correspondence and related artefacts to support governance, audit and dispute resolution Lead the development, negotiation and execution of contract variations and related agreements, including coordinating business case development and strategic decision-making on proposed contractual variations Provide TUSOPA subject matter expertise on operations and initiatives which are relevant to TUSOPA (e.g.

Copper Continuity Obligation, CAN Radio migration, USO Reform, Triple Zero) Coordinate Telstra’s response to contractual audits of performance against TUSOPA obligations Other contracts Support negotiation, contract management and performance against selected other contracts, including with the National Indigenous Australians Agency About you To be successful in the role, you'll bring skills and experience in: Ability to build and maintain strong and effective working relationships with counterparties, internal stakeholders and third parties, with demonstrated influencing skills Highly developed written and verbal communication skills Capability to lead contract governance meetings, performance reviews and sensitive discussions.

Ability to support formal contract governance, including preparation of agendas, briefs, packs, speaking notes and decision records for senior governance forums. Ability to translate complex contractual and commercial issues into clear, actionable advice for non-specialist decision-makers.

Strong analytical capability to assess and explain financial forecasts and actual costs Strong attention to detail High capability to maintain contract artefacts and supporting documentation Ability to weigh legal, commercial and operational considerations to support sound decision-making Ability to operate independently with limited supervision on complex, non-routine contract matters Capability to lead contract governance meetings, contract performance reviews and other sensitive discussions Highly desirable qualification(s) A bachelor’s degree in law, engineering, business/commerce or equivalent Experience managing external audits or assurance Understanding of USO and Triple Zero regulatory obligations Understanding of fixed voice (USO STS), payphone and/or Triple Zero technologies.
