The Network Operations Center (NOC) team within Leo Networking Software is responsible for tier 1 support for software defined network services at Amazon Leo. You'll join a growing team of network operations engineers supporting Amazon Leo's global satellite network. Our services operate at scale and support workloads critical to customer network performance and availability, so a passion and discipline around operational excellence is key. - hardware that is subject to export control laws and regulations, including the Export Administration Regulations (EAR) and the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). - any other factors considered by the applicable export control regulations. Key job responsibilities - Respond to and escalate network-related incidents in a timely manner, diagnosing and troubleshooting network issues including connectivity problems, performance degradation
- security concerns - Support deployment and onboarding of network capabilities across geographic regions, assisting in the monitoring, testing
- reporting of new network infrastructure including satellites, gateway sites
- points of presence - Monitor and investigate network performance to ensure maximum efficiency and operational uptime for customers - Build and enhance tools, develop best practices
- refine operational procedures to measurably improve network operations - Manage severity 2 and 3 tickets while attending on-call rotations during business hours and weekends - Collaborate with cross-functional teams including network, software
- Experience in networking, storage systems, operating systems and hands-on systems engineering - Experience programming with at least one modern language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, Ruby - Experience in technical support - Experience in network engineering for large-scale networks, including diagnosing network impacting issues - Experience with network monitoring and automation scripting using SQL, Python
- Bash - In-depth understanding of cloud networking concepts
- Experience with satellite-based telecommunication networking - Hands-on experience working with satellite software defined networking technologies, packet forwarding architectures
- connectivity issues - Experience dealing effectively with partner teams during problem resolution and collaborating efficiently as a team - Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering
