The Amazon North America Sort Center (NASC) Material Flow Optimization (MFO) Team is looking for a proven technical leader with extensive experience leading projects and programs in applying planning and engineering principles to operations. This would also include developing and implementing process improvement initiatives within the logistics and distribution industry. As a Sr. MFO Operations Engineer, you will work with multiple teams and a broad set of stakeholders including labor planning, operations, network planning
- service performance in designing and improving our expanding network of North American Sort Centers

Key job responsibilities In this role, you will have the opportunity to display your skills in the following areas: - Floor layout design and implementation - Optimized flow modeling - Facilitate the set-up and integration within buildings of new products, services
- operations - Plan and develop a dynamic network of facilities that is growing at a rate of 60% per year - Apply engineering principles, develop processes
- improve operations - Study operations to optimize and design new tools involving simulation and planning - Develop innovative design concepts to improve throughput, facility utilization
- optimize labor - Develop strong, productive relationships across peer organization that further our business objectives. - Manage complex and quick-turn projects while demonstrating exceptional business judgement. - Assess process improvement and transformation opportunities and partner with process owners and stakeholders to scope opportunities, define problem statements and objectives

- mentor field Operations teams to empower them with leveraging operations tools and systems to meet daily business needs. - Travel up to 40%
- 5+ years of directly managing and responsible for multiple large projects experience - 3+ years of leading cross-functional teams across engineering, operations
- field execution through launch readiness and go-live phases experience - Experience and strong technical background in relevant fields of automated or non-automated material handling equipment - Work flexible schedule including weekends, nights
- holidays - 5+ years of Microsoft Office products and applications experience
- Master's degree or above in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, or Business Administration, or Master's degree or above in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) - Experience in Lean Management, Six Sigma and other operations engineer tools - Experience building launch readiness frameworks, standard work, playbooks, and scalable deployment mechanisms across multiple concurrent sites - Experience with performance metrics such as OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness), downtime, throughput, or quality - Experience in Amazon RME (Reliability, Maintenance, and Engineering), fulfillment operations, or automation deployment environments Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
