Job Summary KBR is seeking a Payroll Accountant to support end-to-end payroll operations, statutory compliance, payroll accounting and taxation activities for India payroll. The role is responsible for ensuring accurate payroll processing, timely payroll payments, statutory compliance, tax calculations, reconciliations, audit support and payroll reporting.

The successful candidate will possess strong knowledge of Indian payroll regulations, payroll taxation and accounting processes while maintaining a high level of accuracy, confidentiality and customer service. Key Responsibilities Payroll Operations Execute end-to-end payroll processing, including payroll input collection, validation, processing and payroll execution.

Review and validate payroll data, paysheets, tax calculations and employee records to ensure accuracy and compliance. Ensure correct processing of earnings, deductions, reimbursements and statutory contributions. Maintain payroll master data and employee information with a high degree of accuracy and confidentiality.

Process payroll payments through various banking channels and payment methods. Adhere to payroll calendars, cut-off dates and compliance timelines to ensure timely payroll delivery. Prepare payroll reports, MIS reports, reconciliations and management reporting.

Respond to employee payroll and taxation inquiries and resolve issues in a timely manner. Participate in payroll system enhancements, testing activities and continuous improvement initiatives. Provide support for additional accounting and finance-related activities as assigned.

Taxation & Compliance Ensure payroll taxes are calculated and processed in accordance with Indian Income Tax regulations. Manage statutory compliance activities, including TDS, Provident Fund (PF), Professional Tax (PT), Labour Welfare Fund (LWF) and other applicable statutory requirements.

Coordinate with external consultants to ensure timely filing of statutory returns and compliance obligations. Review tax workings and filings prepared by consultants, identify discrepancies and provide approvals for submission. Maintain accurate payroll tax records and supporting documentation for compliance and audit purposes.

Monitor legislative and regulatory changes impacting payroll and taxation processes. Support GST and other indirect tax-related activities as required. Assist employees with payroll tax-related queries and provide appropriate guidance. Support reconciliation of tax payments and statutory accounts for compliance and reporting purposes.

Audit, Reconciliation & Reporting Prepare payroll-related reconciliations, schedules and supporting documentation for internal and statutory audits. Reconcile payroll, tax payments and accounting records to ensure financial accuracy. Support audit reviews by providing payroll records, reports and compliance documentation.

Collaborate with Finance, Accounting and external stakeholders to support payroll reporting and compliance requirements. Ensure proper retention and maintenance of payroll records in accordance with company policies and statutory requirements.

Required Skills Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, Business Administration, or a related discipline. 3+ years of experience in payroll accounting, payroll processing or payroll operations. Strong knowledge of Indian payroll taxation, payroll compliance and statutory regulations.

Experience managing end-to-end payroll processes and payroll payments. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications. Experience supporting payroll audits, reconciliations and compliance reviews. Strong analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment. Experience with Microsoft Dynamics ERP. Experience managing payroll payments through multiple banking platforms and payment methods.

Knowledge of GST and indirect tax requirements. Experience working with external auditors, consultants and statutory authorities. Exposure to payroll system implementations, automation initiatives and process improvement projects. Experience supporting payroll accounting and reconciliation activities in a corporate environment.
