Title and Summary Operational Insights Analyst Overview The Operational Insights Analyst role within the Program Controls, Operations & Modernization (ProCOM) Office establishes a scalable “risk intelligence layer” on top of incident management, transforming operational data into actionable insights that strengthen situational awareness and control governance.
This role blends data engineering fundamentals with analytical insight, enabling the aggregation, processing, and interpretation of operational data across systems. The position supports development of reliable data pipelines, centralized data structures, and scalable workflows to deliver consistent, high-quality intelligence.
By enabling continuous visibility into operational health, this role supports leadership decision-making and drives proactive identification of control gaps across products and platforms. Role -Analyze incident activity from the past 24 hours and produce concise, executive-ready intelligence briefings highlighting customer, financial, and regulatory impacts -Proactively engage incident owners to validate status, assess impact scope, and identify escalation risks -Aggregate and analyze incident data across products, platforms, and regions to identify recurring failure modes and systemic breakdowns -Translate incident trends into control insights by mapping patterns to control effectiveness and identifying gaps -Develop weekly and monthly risk narratives explaining trends, root causes, and required corrective actions -Support design and maintenance of data pipelines including ingestion, transformation, and storage to ensure reliable data availability and quality -Assist in troubleshooting issues across data processing workflows and distributed data systems -Contribute to development and execution of workflow orchestration and workflow management practices, ensuring efficient, repeatable processes across systems -Support integration of data from multiple sources into a unified view (data integration) to enable consistent analysis and reporting -Participate in maintaining and optimizing data lake environments for storing and analyzing large volumes of operational data -Apply foundational data modeling and database design concepts to structure data for efficient storage, retrieval, and analysis -Ensure adherence to data security and governance standards, protecting sensitive operational data and maintaining integrity and availability -Document technical workflows, processes, and analytical methodologies to ensure repeatability and knowledge sharing -Continuously build expertise in data engineering tools, distributed data processing, and risk analytics techniques All About You -Strong analytical thinking and pattern recognition skills; able to connect incidents to root cause, impact, and trends -Ability to synthesize large volumes of complex, unstructured data into clear, executive-ready insights -Foundational knowledge of data engineering concepts, including: -Data pipelines (ingestion, transformation, storage) -Data processing and distributed data systems -Data integration and data lake concepts -Understanding of data modeling and database design principles to structure and organize data effectively -Familiarity with workflow orchestration and workflow management concepts to support scalable and efficient operations -Awareness of data security practices, including protecting data confidentiality, integrity, and availability -Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to clearly distinguish between facts, root cause, and impact -High attention to detail with a focus on documentation and process clarity -Demonstrates curiosity and a proactive mindset; comfortable working through incomplete information -Collaborative team player who contributes to knowledge sharing and continuous improvement -Ability to quickly learn new tools, technologies, and operational processes -Comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment with evolving priorities organizational skills with attention to detail and a focus on documentation and process clarity Mastercard is a merit-based, inclusive, equal opportunity employer that considers applicants without regard to gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, disabled or veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.

In line with Mastercard’s total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in the US, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary and may be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions depending on the role.
The base salary offered may vary depending on multiple factors, including but not limited to location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
