  • The Role:
  • Cerebral is looking for a 1099 contract Senior Accountant to support our accounting team in a part-time capacity. This contract Senior Accountant will play a key role in the finance organization around the monthly close process including preparing journal entries, owning select account reconciliations
  • assisting in financial reporting. This position will analyze complex account activity and propose solutions for simplification. The role will work closely with multiple departments to provide financial information to aid in business decision making. This role will report directly to our Accounting Manager.
  • Who you are
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
  • CPA preferred
  • 3+ years of in-house experience within a similar industry if not, within a big four accounting firm
  • Superior analytical and problem-solving skills; experienced at creating journal entries and reconciling complex accounts
  • Highly detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to work autonomously
  • Ability to meet a stream of constant deadlines and prioritize work
  • Proven success in working both independently and collaboratively with different levels of employees
  • High integrity, self-aware, and humble

  • Work with Accounting Manager to facilitate the monthly close process on an end-to-end basis, ensuring the quality and timeliness of close by:
  • Preparing journal entries
  • Reconciling accounts and proposing adjusting entries
  • Preparing or assisting with financial reporting
  • Analyze complex account activity and processes and make recommendations for improvements to simplify and streamline operations
  • Maintain a fixed asset register
  • Assist Accounting Manager in building out new processes and structure addressing and improving the month-end close process, internal controls, and financial reporting
  • Document and monitor internal controls once put in place
  • Create detailed process documentation, ensuring accounting implications of processes are clearly understood
  • Answer questions from other departments by researching account activity
  • Various special projects and ad hoc analyses as assigned
