- Multi-Channel Fulfillment (MCCF) enables third-party merchants to use Amazon's fulfillment and delivery network to ship orders placed through their own sales channels. With the business growing, MCCF shipping costs represent a significant and rapidly scaling cost line that requires dedicated finance ownership. We are looking for a Finance Manager to own MCCF shipping cost of goods sold (COGS) forecasting, planning
- analysis end-to-end. This role sits at the intersection of MCCF Finance, WW Operations Finance Transportation
- the Global Transportation Services (GTS) team
- owns MCCF's shipping cost story across all planning cycles. The ideal candidate is a strong financial modeler with deep understanding of cost-per-package (CPP) economics, carrier mix dynamics
- supply chain cost drivers. They are comfortable operating in ambiguous environments, building analytical frameworks from scratch
- influencing cross-functional stakeholders including WW Ops Finance, GTS
- SCOT teams. This role reports into MCCF Finance and will be a key voice in VP-level planning reviews. Key job responsibilities - Serve as the key finance partner for MCCF's shipping COGS, supporting leadership on end-to-end cost forecasting, planning
- variance analysis across a large and growing worldwide unit volume. - Own the annual, quarterly
- monthly planning processes for MCCF shipping COGS, including OP1, OP2
- Q-Guidance cycles. - Influence business decisions through effective verbal and written communication, data-driven variance analysis
- clear presentation of cost drivers, risks
- opportunities to senior leadership. - Serve as MCCF's primary point of contact for WW Ops Finance Transportation on Shipping COGS reporting and allocation methodology. - Drive month-end close deliverables including the MEC Flash, WBR
- VP-level reviews, translating shipping cost variances into clear business narratives with actionable next steps. - Identify and close structural gaps in MCCF's parallel forecasting process, building scalable tools and templates that reduce manual effort and improve consistency across planning cycles. - Support Cost to Serve (CTS) per unit tracking where shipping COGS is a key component
- contribute to cross-functional initiatives requiring integration of shipping cost assumptions. - Perform various ad hoc analyses to help MCCF and Ops Finance leaders solve business problems and understand the financial implications of operational decisions. - Thrive and deliver results in an ambiguous, fast-paced environment with competing priorities across finance, operations
- technology teams. About the team The Multi-Channel and Commerce Fulfillment (MCCF) Finance team is the financial backbone of Amazon's off-Amazon fulfillment and supply chain services, supporting a business that ships tens of millions of units annually to merchants and customers across the US and internationally. - Multi-Channel Distribution to deliver the financial clarity that drives strategy and investment decisions. We are a high-ownership, high-impact team operating at the intersection of Amazon's supply chain, retail
- technology businesses.
- 5+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience - Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science)
- CPA - Knowledge of SQL/ETL - 6+ years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan experience - 6+ years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis
- recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements
- customer benefits) experience - Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards) - Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting
