The Manager, EMEA Trade Lead is responsible for leading and executing trade compliance strategy across the EMEA region to ensure adherence to applicable customs, import/export, and trade regulations. This role partners closely with Supply Chain, Finance, Legal, and Commercial teams to enable compliant and efficient cross‑border operations while supporting business growth.

The position plays a critical role in mitigating regulatory risk, strengthening governance, and driving continuous improvement across EMEA markets. Key Responsibilities Lead EMEA trade compliance activities in alignment with global trade policies and regional regulatory requirements.

Serve as the regional subject matter expert on customs, import/export controls, tariffs, free trade agreements, and trade regulations. Partner with Supply Chain, Logistics, Finance, Legal, and Commercial teams to support compliant product movement and business operations.

Oversee trade compliance processes, controls, and documentation to ensure audit readiness and regulatory adherence. Identify , assess, and mitigate trade‑related risks, including the impact of regulatory changes on EMEA operations. Support internal and external audits, regulatory inquiries, and engagements related to trade compliance.

Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, data quality, and compliance governance. Provide guidance and training to regional stakeholders on trade compliance requirements and best practices. Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business , Supply Chain, International Trade, Finance, or a related field (required).

Master’s degree, MBA, or advanced coursework in trade, logistics , or compliance (preferred). Experience and Skills

Required

  • Typically 6 – 8 years of experience in trade compliance, customs, supply chain, or a related field, with regional or global scope.
  • Strong knowledge of EMEA trade regulations, customs requirements, and import/export controls.
  • Experience leading or influencing cross‑functional teams in a matrixed organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to assess regulatory risk and implement effective compliance controls.
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex regulatory topics clearly

Preferred

  • Experience in the medical device , pharmaceutical , or other highly regulated industries.
  • Familiarity with global trade systems, ERP platforms, and compliance reporting tools.
  • Experience supporting or leading regulatory audits and inspections.
  • Proven track record of driving process improvements and operational efficiencies.
  • Experience working across multiple EMEA markets and cultures.
  • Other: Language: English proficiency required ; additional European languages preferred.
  • Travel: Up to 20% international travel within EMEA.
  • Certifications: Trade compliance or customs‑ related certifications preferred.
