As part of the Commercial Portfolio Excellence (CPEx) PMO, you will lead complex, high-impact programs across the commercial portfolio, partnering with cross-functional teams to drive clarity, execution discipline, and strategic decision-making.
Your work will help ensure the right programs are prioritized, resourced, governed, and delivered to support meaningful outcomes for patients around the world. The Senior Manager, Program Management will serve as a senior leader within the CPEx PMO, responsible for leading strategic programs, strengthening portfolio execution practices, and enabling effective decision-making across business and functional stakeholders.
This role requires a strong enterprise mindset, the ability to navigate ambiguity, and the leadership presence to influence across functions, geographies, and organizational levels. You’ll make an impact by: Lead complex, cross-functional programs across the commercial portfolio, ensuring alignment to business priorities, strategic objectives, and patient-impact goals.
Translate ambiguous business needs into clear program strategies, integrated plans, governance models, milestones, risks, decisions, and measurable outcomes. Partner with senior leaders and functional stakeholders to drive portfolio prioritization, resource planning, trade-off discussions, and timely decision-making.
Establish and manage disciplined program governance, including scope, schedule, budget, quality, risk, communications, and change control. Use data, insights, and portfolio performance trends to identify risks, resolve barriers, and recommend actions that improve execution and business outcomes.
Influence and align global stakeholders across commercial, strategy, operations, regulatory, clinical, quality, finance, supply chain and other partner functions. Lead PMO continuous improvement efforts that strengthen standards, tools, operating mechanisms, reporting, and scalable portfolio management practices.
Develop clear executive-level communications, including program updates, decision materials, escalation summaries, and leadership-ready recommendations. Mentor project and program managers, helping build PMO capability, business acumen, stakeholder influence, and consistent execution excellence.
Due to the collaborative nature of this position, this role is on-site based in Irvine, CA What you’ll need (required): Bachelor's Degree in related field, minimum 10 years of hands on experience managing projects and/or programs of increasing complexity or equivalent work experience based on Edwards criteria Required, or Master's Degree or equivalent or equivalent work experience based on Edwards criteria Preferred What else we look for (preferred): Experience managing programs in the medical device, healthcare, life sciences, or other highly regulated industry.
Demonstrated ability to lead through influence, manage ambiguity, and drive alignment among senior leaders and cross-functional stakeholders. Strong command of program management fundamentals, including integrated planning, risk management, governance, change control, communications, and performance tracking.
Proven ability to develop executive-level materials, communicate complex topics clearly, and facilitate decisions with leadership audiences. Excellent problem-solving, analytical, organizational, and critical thinking skills. Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office and project or portfolio management tools.
PMP certification, advanced degree, or formal program management training preferred. Experience with medical device product development, regulatory, quality, clinical, operations, and commercial processes. Experience leading portfolio planning, prioritization, governance forums, and resource planning.
Strong business acumen, financial awareness, and ability to connect program execution to portfolio strategy and organizational goals. People leadership experience, including coaching, developing, and mentoring project managers. Comfort operating in a fast-paced, global environment with competing priorities, evolving scope, and high executive visibility.

You will help the CPEx PMO drive clarity, consistency, and momentum across critical business priorities that make a meaningful difference for patients.
Aligning our overall business objectives with performance, we offer competitive salaries, performance-based incentives, and a wide variety of benefits programs to address the diverse individual needs of our employees and their families. For California (CA), the base pay range for this position is $139,000 to $196,000 (highly experienced).
