Position Summary You will lead business development and licensing (BD&L) project activities in Australia. You will coordinate internal and external stakeholders to move deals from assessment to execution. Responsibilities This role will provide YOU the opportunity to lead key activities to progress YOUR career. These responsibilities include some of the following:
  • Lead end-to-end BD&L project workstreams, including deal assessment, diligence coordination, negotiation support and transition to operational teams.
  • Manage cross-functional stakeholders across commercial, legal, medical, regulatory and finance to keep projects on time and on scope.
  • Prepare clear, concise materials to support decision making, including opportunity summaries, financial inputs and risk assessments.
  • Engage and build trusted relationships with external partners, including biotech companies, academic groups and advisors.
  • Track project timelines, key milestones and deliverables, and report progress to senior leaders.
  • Ensure activities comply with local laws, industry standards and company policies. Why You? Basic Qualification We are seeking professionals with the following required skills and qualifications to help us achieve our goals:
  • Bachelor’s degree in life sciences, business, finance, law or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in business development, licensing, corporate development or related commercial role within biopharma, biotech or healthcare.
  • Demonstrated experience managing cross-functional projects and multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong commercial judgement and practical experience with deal processes or transactions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Right to work in Australia; role is based in Australia and will be hybrid with some on-site presence required. Preferred Qualification If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:
  • Advanced degree (MBA, MSc, JD or equivalent) or relevant professional certification.
  • Experience leading negotiations or supporting commercial and legal negotiation teams.
  • Familiarity with valuation methods, deal structures and basic financial modelling.
  • Experience working with early-stage biotech, academic translation or licensing from institutions.
  • Prior exposure to regulatory, market access or commercial launch considerations in Australia.
