What You'll Do

  • The Lead Software Engineer - Snowflake is a senior individual contributor and technical leader responsible for the architecture, design, and development of complex solutions developed on the Snowflake platform.
  • This role plays a critical part in advancing the platform’s capabilities across the Disney Compliance and Supply Chain spaces.
  • The ideal candidate brings deep hands-on platform expertise, forward-looking architectural thinking, and the ability to influence technical strategy at scale.
  • In addition to being the core technical leader, this role will also be involved in overseeing daily user story creation, sprint activities and critical code review across all agile activities.
  • Responsibilities Lead the design, development, and optimization of complex Snowflake solutions leveraging modern platform capabilities, best practices, and extensibility frameworks.
  • Act as a technical authority across all development team activities to include platform strategy, AI adoption & implementation, and platform governance and security.
  • Architect and govern complex data ingest & egress across multiple internal & external data sources, ensuring data quality, normalization, reconciliation, lifecycle integrity, and operational reliability.
  • Design scalable models that support enterprise-wide capabilities, asset lifecycles, compliance, reporting, and integration with downstream systems.
  • Be the technical expert within the Snowflake platform for alignment with global data guidelines in support of PII, GDPR, PIPL, CCPA regulations.
  • Build and optimize Platform Analytics, Performance Analytics, and executive level dashboards, driving data informed decision making.
  • Leverage emerging Snowflake capabilities such as Snowflake Intelligence, Streamlit, Cortex AI and Gen AI.
  • Platform Analytics, AI/Automation frameworks, and next-generation reporting tools.
  • Define technical patterns, guardrails, and reference architectures aligned with platform strategy and long-term sustainment.
  • Partner with Product Management, Enterprise Architecture, Security, and Operations to translate strategic goals into robust technical solutions.
  • Mentor engineers and provide architectural guidance through design reviews, code reviews, and technical coaching.
  • Lead complex troubleshooting efforts, including production break-fix, discovery failures, root cause analysis, integration bottlenecks, and performance degradation.
  • Produce high-quality, audit-ready technical documentation, including solution designs, data models, and architectural diagrams.
  • Required Qualifications & Skills: Minimum 7+ years of professional software engineering experience, with significant hands-on development on the Snowflake platform.
  • Snowflake certifications: SnowPro Core, SnowPro advanced data engineer.
  • Advanced proficiency in JavaScript, SQL, Snowflake scripting, Snowpipe, & Snowpark.
  • Demonstrated experience implementing and supporting detailed Snowflake optimization reports for very large volume data lakes across multiple accounts.
  • Strong experience creating and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, enabled with custom Python code.
  • Strong technical expertise implementing Snowflake Data Warehousing & Medallion data lake strategies.
  • Strong hands-on expertise with Security, Disaster Recovery, Data Governance, Monitoring, AI & Enablement.
  • Solid understanding of asset lifecycles, license compliance, software normalization, and hardware asset governance.
  • Experience with REST integrations, data imports, web services, and event-based integrations.
  • Proven experience working in Agile delivery environments with cross-functional global teams.
  • Ability to design scalable, resilient, and maintainable solutions that support enterprise growth

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with high volume data solutions such as Databricks and Azure Synapse.
  • One or more SnowPro advanced or specialty certifications, such as Generative AI, Snowpark or Architect.
  • Experience implementing Platform Analytics, advanced Performance Analytics, and complex data-driven insights with a lens towards cost optimization strategy.
  • Experience with programming languages such as C#, & .NET.
  • Strong understanding of platform governance, upgrade strategies, and technical debt management.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software, Electrical or Electronics Engineering
  • comparable field of study, and/or equivalent work experience #DISNEYTECH The hiring range for this position in Orlando, FL is $148,300 - $198,800 per year.
  • The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
  • A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
