Senior CMDB Developer

We are seeking a Senior CMDB Developer to lead the design, development, and continuous improvement of our ServiceNow Configuration Management Database (CMDB). This role will be responsible for building scalable CMDB solutions, implementing Service Mapping, supporting CSDM adoption, driving data quality initiatives, and integrating enterprise discovery and asset data sources to create a trusted system of record for IT services and infrastructure.
This is a hands-on role focused on development excellence, solution delivery, and continuous platform improvement. The individual will work closely with architects, infrastructure teams, application owners, and business stakeholders to ensure the CMDB delivers measurable value across ITSM, ITOM, Risk, Security, and Operational Excellence initiatives.
How you’ll make an impact: Design, develop, and maintain CMDB solutions within the ServiceNow platform. Configure and enhance CI classes, relationships, identification rules, reconciliation rules, and data models. Ensure CMDB architecture aligns with ServiceNow best practices and the Common Service Data Model (CSDM).
Design and implement integrations with discovery and inventory tools such as Armis, Intune, SolarWinds, SCCM, cloud providers, and other enterprise systems. Develop and maintain Service Graph Connectors and integration patterns. Support Discovery and Service Mapping implementations to improve infrastructure and business service visibility.
Build automated data ingestion and normalization processes. Monitor CMDB health using dashboards, KPIs, and compliance metrics. Configure and optimize Identification and Reconciliation Engine (IRE) rules. Partner with governance teams to establish and maintain CMDB standards, policies, and operational procedures.
Implement and support Service Mapping for business-critical services. Maintain service hierarchies, business applications, technical services, and service offerings. Participate in Agile development activities including design reviews, sprint planning, estimation, testing, and production deployments.
Troubleshoot CMDB-related issues and provide timely resolution. Support platform upgrades, new releases, and technical debt reduction initiatives. Build and maintain integrations using REST/SOAP APIs, MID Server, and third-party systems. Deliver high-quality, reusable, and scalable code aligned with platform standards.
Participate in technical design discussions, effort estimation, and solution reviews. Ensure adherence to design standards, data models, and architecture guidelines. Participate in peer reviews and ensure code quality before release. Troubleshoot production issues and provide timely resolution.
What you’ll need (Required): Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. 5+ years of experience in ServiceNow development . Strong experience implementing and supporting CMDB, Discovery, and Service Mapping.
Hands-on experience with: ServiceNow scripting (JavaScript, Glide API) Flow Designer, Business Rules, UI Policies, Client Scripts Integrations (REST/SOAP, MID Server) ITOM Service Graph Connectors Identification & Reconciliation Engine (IRE) Experience working in Agile delivery environments.
