Position Summary As a Staff Automation Engineer, you will be in a hybrid leadership and quality engineering role responsible for driving product delivery excellence, ensuring implementation quality, and serving as the bridge between business stakeholders, product management, and engineering teams.
This position combines Product Engineering Ownership responsibilities with hands-on quality engineering leadership to deliver highly reliable, scalable, and resilient software solutions. Roles and Responsibilities Partner with business teams, Product Managers, Principal Engineers, Staff Engineers, Engineering Managers, Architects, and cross-functional delivery teams to define requirements, prioritize features, coordinate dependencies, and validate end-to-end business outcomes.
Lead product verification strategy across large-scale enterprise programs. Develop and drive test automation to improve quality, efficiency, and release confidence. Establish and maintain quality governance standards throughout the software development lifecycle.
Validate observability, resiliency, and operational readiness for enterprise solutions. Manage test data strategy and support effective test execution across teams. Coordinate with interdependent teams to ensure alignment on delivery, testing, and release activities.
Drive release readiness efforts, including performance validation and monitoring strategy verification and identify opportunities for continuous quality improvement and implement best practices across the development lifecycle. Required Qualifications 8+ years of experience in Software Quality Engineering, Test Automation, Product Engineering liaison, or a related technology role. 7+ years of experience working as a Business Systems Analyst, QA Lead, or similar customer-facing technology role. 7+ years of proven experience collaborating with Business Stakeholders, Product Managers, Engineering Leaders, Architects, and Development Teams in Agile environments. 7+ years experience of deep understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC), Agile/Scrum methodologies, and large-scale enterprise application delivery. 2+ years of hands-on experience designing and implementing automated testing frameworks and end-to-end test strategies. 4+ years of experience defining acceptance criteria, user stories, backlog prioritization, and release planning activities. 6+ years of experience coordinating test data setup, environment readiness, and cross-team dependency management. 2+ years of experience proven ability to validate production readiness through observability checks, monitoring validation, and operational health assessments.
Preferred Qualifications 1+ years of experience validating application resiliency, disaster recovery, failover, and business continuity capabilities. Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform. Experience with performance testing, capacity planning, and scalability assessments.
Knowledge of DevOps practices, Infrastructure as Code, and continuous quality engineering methodologies. 2+ years of experience leading enterprise-wide quality initiatives and governance frameworks. Education Bachelor’s degree from accredited university or equivalent work experience (High School Diploma/GED + 4 years relevant experience).
Pay Range The typical pay range for this role is: $130,295.00 - $260,590.00 This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.
This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program. Our people fuel our future.
