Job Description & Summary: The Valuations Group specializes in valuation of wide spectrum of businesses, shares, and assets (tangible and intangible) that assists clients in taking key decisions in several areas including, strategic transactions (such as acquisitions, mergers, divestitures and joint ventures), internal/financial restructuring, strategic decision making and legal issues
Responsibilities
- Plan and execute valuations of plant, machinery, and equipment across sectors (manufacturing, energy, chemicals, mining, infrastructure, etc.).
- Conduct site inspections to verify asset existence, condition, utilization, maintenance history, and operating environment.
- Build robust valuation models using cost, market, and income approaches; determine RCNLD and assess physical, functional, and economic obsolescence.
- Source and analyze market evidence (OEM pricing, dealer quotes, auction databases, indices), and document assumptions and adjustments.
- Prepare high-quality valuation reports compliant with IVS/RICS/IBBI standards and fit for financial reporting under Ind AS/IFRS.
- Support fair value measurement for: Purchase Price Allocation (Ind AS 103/IFRS 3), Impairment testing (Ind AS 36/IAS 36), Componentization, useful life and residual value assessments (Ind AS 16/IAS 16), Lease-related assets and improvements (Ind AS 116/IFRS 16), Fair value measurement framework (Ind AS 113/IFRS 13).
- Reconcile valuations to client fixed asset registers (FAR), ensure clean asset listings, and assist with asset verification and tagging exercises.
- Engage with client engineering, operations, and finance teams; address auditor queries.
- Manage project timelines, scope, and deliverables; ensure quality control and adherence to engagement protocols.
