What You Will Do
- Investigate & Trace: Dive into the weeds of suspected crypto scams, wallet compromises, and unauthorized withdrawals.
- You will use blockchain forensic tools (like Chainalysis) to trace funds, map wallet clusters, and uncover the destination of illicit transactions.
- Secure & Mitigate: Take immediate, decisive action to lock down compromised accounts, halt suspicious outgoing transfers, and mitigate losses in an environment where transactions are instant and irreversible.
- Guide the Client: Communicate directly with clients who may have fallen victim to sophisticated crypto scams (e.g., phishing, romance scams, or fake investment platforms).
- You will manage their expectations regarding the finality of blockchain transfers with absolute empathy and clarity.
- Manage the Queue: Act as a master multi-tasker, managing multiple complex on-chain investigations at once while strictly maintaining case-closure Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
- Connect the Dots: Participate in weekly calibration sessions with your peers to share findings, spot new blockchain scam typologies, and help the team stay one step ahead of the fraudsters.
- Who you are: The On-Chain Detective: You have incredibly high attention to detail.
- You love following the money across the blockchain, analyzing ledger data, and solving the puzzle of complex crypto movements.
- Calm Under Pressure: You are resourceful, persistent, and thrive in a fast-paced environment where quick decisions are required to protect assets before they are moved off-platform.
- An Empathetic Communicator: You know that behind every lost wallet or scam is a real person.
- You excel at taking complex blockchain concepts and explaining them simply and calmly to our clients.
- The Requirements: Experience: Minimum 1 year of direct fraud experience, with specific exposure to cryptocurrency investigations, crypto compliance, or digital asset security.
- Blockchain Forensics: Hands-on experience or direct exposure using Chainalysis (or similar blockchain tracing tools) to map and investigate transaction flows.
- Industry Knowledge: Demonstrated understanding of common crypto fraud typologies (pig butchering, phishing, rug pulls) and how traditional fraud management intersects with Web3.
- Analytical Chops: The ability to collect, organize, and analyze both off-chain (IPs, device IDs) and on-chain datasets with precision and accuracy.
- Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Nice to Haves: Certifications: Completed courses or certifications in blockchain forensics, cryptocurrency compliance, or digital assets (e.g., Chainalysis Reactor Certification (CRC), CCAS, or similar).
- Web3 Curiosity: A genuine, active interest in the broader cryptocurrency ecosystem and underlying blockchain technology.
