Job Description
Distribution Manager Location: Solon, OH Why This Role Matters Our Distribution team serves as the critical link between manufacturing and our customers. As a Distribution Manager, you will lead the daily operations that ensure products are received, stored, and shipped safely, accurately, and efficiently.
Your leadership will directly impact customer satisfaction, inventory accuracy, employee engagement, and operational performance. What You Will Do Lead daily shipping, receiving, and returned goods operations to ensure customer requirements are met. Create and maintain a safe work environment through employee engagement, training, and adherence to safety programs. Train, coach, and develop warehouse and distribution employees to maximize performance and engagement.
Monitor productivity, attendance, and performance while providing feedback, coaching, and corrective action when necessary. Conduct employee performance evaluations and recommend compensation adjustments. Schedule domestic outbound truckload shipments using approved carrier networks.
Optimize freight routing to maximize transportation efficiency and cost savings. Collaborate closely with Customer Service to ensure on-time and accurate order fulfillment. Partner with Inventory Control to maintain inventory accuracy between warehouse systems and ERP platforms.
Maintain warehouse organization and layout utilizing 80/20 principles to maximize efficiency and workflow. Oversee payroll-related activities, vacation scheduling, and attendance tracking. Negotiate with suppliers and vendors to secure competitive pricing on operational supplies.
Identify and implement process improvements that increase productivity, quality, and customer satisfaction. Develop and maintain operational reports, metrics, and spreadsheets to monitor performance and drive decision-making. What You Will Bring Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Business Administration, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field preferred.
Equivalent relevant experience will also be considered. 2–3 years of supervisory experience in a distribution, warehouse, or logistics environment. Knowledge of shipping, receiving, inventory control, and warehouse operations. Strong commitment to workplace safety and employee development.
Ability to lead, motivate, and hold teams accountable in a fast-paced environment. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously. Experience using ERP systems, with JDE experience preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel.
