The Senior Product Manager will act as the central point of coordination for data governance tooling, metadata management initiatives, and vendor engagement, ensuring alignment between business stakeholders, technology teams, the metadata management team, and external partners.
This individual will own the product strategy, roadmap, and operational relationship with Alation, driving platform adoption, integration of governance capabilities, enhancement opportunities, and long-term value realization across the enterprise data ecosystem.
The ideal candidate will bring experience in data governance, metadata management, data catalog technologies, vendor management, and technical product management. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Following is a summary of the essential functions for this job.

Serve as the product lead for the enterprise data catalog platform (Alation), defining and executing the strategic roadmap aligned to data governance and enterprise data management objectives.
Act as the primary point of contact for the Alation vendor relationship, managing all aspects of vendor engagement including product enhancements, issue resolution, roadmap discussions, quarterly business reviews, contract-related coordination, and strategic partnership activities.
Partner closely with the Metadata Management team and Data Governance stakeholders to prioritize initiatives, communicate decisions, and align platform capabilities with enterprise governance objectives. Lead evaluation, design, and implementation of new processes and capabilities that improve metadata management, data catalog adoption, governance workflows, and overall user experience.
Drive integration strategy and prioritization across data governance tools, ensuring effective connectivity and information flow into the enterprise data catalog ecosystem. Serve as the central coordination point for cross-functional communications related to the data catalog platform, consolidating business, technology, vendor, and governance discussions into a unified product strategy.
Collaborate with Product Owners, engineers, architects, and governance teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions and platform enhancements. Support product ownership activities including backlog refinement, feature definition, prioritization, user story development, testing coordination, and release planning.
Analyze platform utilization, governance metrics, metadata quality indicators, and stakeholder feedback to inform product decisions and roadmap investments. Provide thought leadership on industry trends, emerging data governance capabilities, metadata management practices, and data catalog technologies.

Bachelors’ degree in business, engineering, design, or technology field; or related field or equivalent combination of education and professional experience Ten or more years of banking, financial services, or other relevant work experience Five or more years of product, analysis, technology, and/or design experience Five or more years of leading cross functional teams Previous experience working as a Product Manager Equal enthusiasm for high-level strategic planning and tactical daily execution Experience defining/driving vision of experience programs and/or partnership-based programs Experience defining and delivering large-scale online initiatives Proven ability to use data analytics, research and testing methodologies to drive business decisions, diagnose problems, and recommend action plans to resolve issues Ability to lead cross-functional teams without formal authority Comfortable managing concurrent projects in a fast-based, results-driven environment Comfortable with ambiguity, leading work autonomously, and making independent decisions Excellent skills in presentation, facilitation, communication, and negotiation Experience defining/driving vision of experience programs and/or partnership-based programs Experience in roles requiring strong communication and interpersonal skills & the creation and delivery of succinct executive-level presentations to explain and sell plans/vision Preferred Qualifications: Experience with enterprise data governance, metadata management, data catalog, or master data management platforms.
Experience with Alation or similar data catalog technologies. Demonstrated experience managing strategic vendor relationships and product partnerships. Technical product management experience supporting enterprise data platforms, integrations, APIs, or governance technologies.
Knowledge of data governance frameworks, metadata management practices, data lineage, and data quality concepts.
