  • We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Paralegal to support the U.S. Money Transmitter Licensing Program. This role will be responsible for the management, maintenance
  • expansion of the company’s other state licenses (potentially internationally) and other related regulatory licensing requirements. The Paralegal will coordinate state licensing applications and renewals, maintain regulatory filings and records, track ongoing reporting and compliance obligations
  • support responses to regulatory requests and examinations. The role will also work closely with the Legal and Compliance teams, as well as other internal stakeholders, to help ensure that agreements, contracts, products
  • business activities align with applicable state and federal licensing requirements.
  • The ideal candidate has prior experience working at a fintech, payments, banking
  • financial services company and is familiar with the Nationwide Multistate Licensing System (NMLS), state regulatory agencies
  • money transmitter licensing obligations.
  • Responsibilities
  • Manage the day-to-day administration of U.S. Money Transmitter Licenses (MTLs), including applications, renewals, and amendments.
  • Prepare, review, and submit regulatory filings through NMLS and directly with state regulatory agencies.
  • Track licensing deadlines, annual reports, financial statement submissions, and other regulatory requirements to ensure timely compliance.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders, including Legal, Compliance, Finance to gather required documentation for licensing matters.
  • Maintain licensing records, corporate governance documents, organizational charts, and other regulatory documentation.
  • Respond to requests from state regulators and coordinate examinations, information requests, and follow-up communications.
  • Monitor regulatory developments affecting state licensing requirements and communicate relevant updates to internal teams.
  • Assist with corporate governance activities, including maintaining corporate records and supporting board resolutions related to licensing matters.
  • Support vendor due diligence, contract administration, and general legal operations as needed.
  • Help improve licensing processes through documentation, organization, and automation initiatives.
  • Advise other stakeholders in the company on applicable license requirements.
  • Review Call reports and other reporting obligations to ensure proper reporting,
  • Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in legal discipline and/or Paralegal Certificate preferred.
  • 2+ years of paralegal or regulatory licensing experience, preferably in fintech, payments, banking, or financial services.
  • Hands-on experience managing U.S. Money Transmitter Licenses (MTLs).
  • Familiarity with state regulatory agencies and money transmission laws.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify inconsistencies, missing information, and potential filing issues.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting additional state financial licenses (e.g., lending, virtual currency licenses).
  • Familiarity with Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Anti-Money Laundering (AML), or payments regulatory requirements.
  • Experience using the Nationwide Multistate Licensing System (NMLS).,
  • Experience working in a high-growth fintech or technology company.

  • The compensation for this position is $100,000. However, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills
  • experience. In addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
  • This position is hybrid on-site 2-3 times a week in our Palo Alto office.
