The Amazon Reliability Maintenance and Engineering team keeps all our equipment in excellent working order, from printers to fully automated sortation systems. As a Refrigeration Reliability Manager, you’ll make sure that our expanding fleet of refrigeration systems are working at their best so that our customers get their orders on time. You will serve as the technical expert for commercial refrigeration systems across Amazon's expanding European market. You will drive standardization, reliability improvements
- technical excellence across multiple facilities while ensuring optimal performance and compliance with food safety standards. You will be instrumental in leading Amazon RME towards World Class Maintenance in refrigeration operations. Key job responsibilities
- Create, innovate and drive projects to deliver reliability, ergonomic, cost and resource-use benefits at European-wide scale
- Increase standardisation within the network of refrigeration systems, and in future delivery station design
- Optimize existing equipment/processes and support expansion of new equipment/process from concept to deployment
- Author and chair reports/ business case reviews to document project status and changes with senior leadership
- Communicate reliability program status & outputs to senior leaders periodically
- Creates strategy for long term roadmap
- Implement standards validated by the EU Engineering team and participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety and equipment availability for our internal customers, with a key focus on predictive & preventative maintenance programs. A day in the life Your day will be varied. Some days will be at a delivery station learning from our customers in RME, some will be working on design standards for the next generations of refrigeration systems, some will be working on a new MHE concept/design to improve Amazon reliability
- others will be managing large-scale deployment projects to our delivery stations. You would also be working with partners from Operations, Process Improvement, Health and Safety, Ergonomics, Finance, Procurement, Central & Field Reliability and external vendors to design and deploy new equipment and processes in refrigeration systems. This will require management of a large number of diverse stakeholders, strong autonomy and the ability to work in ambiguity. You will also lead regular communication with executors, project sponsors and senior leaders, requiring detail-oriented, technical and business reporting. We're a technically minded team, made up of excellent team players and guided by experienced leaders. We work together improve, troubleshoot and standardise equipment across our network of delivery stations. Everything we do focuses on reducing downtime in Amazon's crucial operations sites, so customers get their orders on time. The location of this role can be flexible to any AMZL delivery station
- corporate office with the EU.
- Bachelor's degree - Work flexible schedule including weekends, nights
- holidays - Bachelor's degree or above in engineering or equivalent
- experience from a technical internship - Knowledge of mechanical or electrical systems design - Speak, write
- read fluently in English
- have the ability to take direction in English - Experience working with the designs of complex automated material, handling equipment, packaging technologies
- systems including robotics and high-speed manufacturing - Experience with project management - 5+ Years experience working with commercial refrigeration systems
- Master's degree in engineering, mechanical, operations, supply chain, business administration
- equivalent STEM field - Experience in Lean Management, Six Sigma and other operations engineer tools - Bachelor's degree
- a Master's degree and experience working for Amazon or any Amazon subsidiary or affiliate - Comprehensive knowledge of specialized engineering and facilities equipment within the AMZL world, as well as maintenance and safety procedures. - Experience working with PLC based control systems.
