In this position, you will improve the capabilities and quality of existing control systems for mechanical equipment, implement control systems for newly introduced equipment in partnership with domestic and international teams

- the successful candidate will be expected to take ownership of both implementation and post-implementation issues, including conducting data analysis when problems occur and partnering with stakeholder departments to deliver high-quality systems. Beyond controls engineering, you will drive part of the automation strategy for the Australia region, identifying new automation solutions and improving existing automation to meet safety, productivity, quality
- cost goals. This role involves regular communication with partner teams from Japan, Europe
- WW to support parallel development projects. This role will be based in either Sydney or Melbourne. The position requires regular domestic and international travel (approximately 25% of work time). Key job responsibilities - Project management, specification development, implementation
- troubleshooting of control systems for new Material Handling Equipment - Improvement analysis, project management, implementation
- troubleshooting of existing mechanical control systems - Research, evaluation
- implementation of new automation solutions for the Australia region, including identifying opportunities to improve existing automation and defining the regional automation strategy - Partnership with domestic and international teams for project execution, standardization

- Bachelor's degree - 5+ years of industrial engineer, operations engineer, manufacturing engineer
- project engineer in a manufacturing environment experience - 4+ years of PLC programming experience - 1+ years of PLC/SCADA integration experience
- Knowledge of AutoCAD, VBA
- SQL at the intermediate level - Knowledge of automated material handling systems, packaging technologies and storage solutions - Experience working with and managing third party vendors - Experience with Six Sigma, lean manufacturing - Experience working with material handling equipment (MHE) safety standards in accordance with OEM requirements - Experience influencing multiple stakeholders and leading cross functional teams across geographies and business units - Knowledge of safety standards and ergonomic design principles Acknowledgement of country: In the spirit of reconciliation Amazon acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of country throughout Australia and their connections to land, sea and community.
