Key job responsibilities - Design and implement scalable software solutions that calculate taxes accurately and efficiently across Amazon's global operations, handling millions of service requests per minute - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions that meet tax compliance standards worldwide - Develop, test
- deploy high-quality distributed system software using software engineering best practices and modern development methodologies - Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including design reviews, code reviews, documentation, testing
- operational support of production systems - Contribute to system reliability and performance by monitoring production metrics, identifying optimization opportunities
- implementing improvements to ensure our services meet demanding scale and accuracy requirements
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience - 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience - Experience programming with at least one software programming language - Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
- 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing
